858 Polaris Pro. Got a great compliment today!

If only I could throw this kit in and still keep my warranty.

Warranty equipped sleds, NEVER make the high mark.. Just sayin':face-icon-small-win

This kit is not for the people that are not concerned with having more power or those that want to keep their warranty in tact..

This kit is for those who want to feel what a hopped up Pro runs like and enjoy the great chassis with some added power.

Honestly, this Pro is so much more fun to ride when you have the power to attack the hills vs. cut across them.. Whole different fun factor..

But, again, not for everyone.. But it is out there and doing well.

Kelsey - I was in Alpine last weekend (bearclaws) and ran into your group - was the Pro that was with you the 858 sled? Your rev was ripping.

Yes, that was the 858 (running well that day, but in a different form today)

Thanks for the compliment on the Rev 860.. That is my boy's sled.. real fun sled to ride...

Would I have to run a fuel controller with the piston drop in kit on 11 SBA?

NO,,
In fact, we designed the drop in kit to run ethanol fuel while using the NON-ETHANOL resistor..

We spent a lot of time changing this kit to make is VERY safe and still make very good power.

Dyno? I think you will find more than a few threads around here questioning the claimed horsepower gains and how he arrived at those numbers without a dyno.

That's aside from the fact that his R&D department consists of having people pay him to be his guinea pig.

Not sure who pissed in your tank, but I think i have the answer.

First let me say that I'm in no way affiliated with Kelsey or RKT (nor do I know him), just a guy who ran some of his porting and head, and was very impressed. Both by the performance, and the support I received from him.

Also let me say that this was regarding USED parts I bought off another member, so RKT stood to gain NOTHING by wasting their time giving me technical and setup support, as I was buying nothing from them.

When I talked to Kelsey on the phone (several times) I was prodding him for horse power #'s and expected gains.
He flat out won't give/make them.
He said "if I say or claim it's going to make or gain so-and-so HP #'s and then it doesn't, then you'll go tell someone, they'll go tell 2 other's and so-on and so-on... It's just not worth making big fancy claims... I know that's what everyone wants, but I just don't do it most of the time.
It'll be a BIG improvement over stock and you'll be happy with it. I'll say that."

I've had the same experience with Kelsey. Bought a rad off a guy on the SW swap, I needed a diff compression dome and he swapped them out for me no charge. Kelsey gives REAL customer service. Rare nowadays.

I got Pro on the brain, we might be in touch Kelsey...and keep up the good work...don't let the haters get u down!

Kelsey,

In order to install the Big Bore on the Pro would you recommend it be brought to your shop or can you walk my local dealer through the process? Let me know best process for an install.

thanks

Any dealer can install the 858 kit. It is as simple as installing new pistons in any Pro.. We send the kit ready to bolt in, exhaust valves are modified... very simple install.

Since we pruposely designed this kit around the stock exhaust components, there is no need to have to mess with aftermarket components. This way we keep the cost way lower for you since the only thing required is the kit and a fuel control box.

So are you going to answer my question or should I assume that dyno numbers don't actually exist for this kit?

I'm not trying to start something, but it seems odd to sell a kit designed to add horsepower without knowing what the number actually is, could be or should be.

kelsey
how do you think it will the compare to the 860 xp kit ?
what comp. ratio will you run at 5000 up ?
will it be designed to run with stock pipe or ?
thanks

I am not going to play the dyno game. If I came out with a dyno sheet (from me) that rated this kit at 180HP, it would just start a bunch of controversy.. Dynos can be made to display ANY number (high or low) you want by VERY simple manipulation.. So, any dyno sheet from ANY engine shop should be considered suspect. That is why you will never see a dyno sheet from me that was not done at a total neutral dyno facility like dyno tech research in NY..

So, in answer, yes, I have a very good idea what power it is making, and it is substantial.. BUT until somebody takes it to a neutral and accredited dyno facility, it is pointless to post any sheets or speculate.

I will tell you this.. it makes stockers look like 440's...

We could not be happier with the performance of this kit..

It compares nicely to the 860 XP.. depends on how the 860 is setup..

We are running 14:1 on straight 91 octane with no issues 5k-9k alt.

Yes, it is designed to run with the OEM exhaust components but we have tested it also with some aftermarket pipes and cans and it works well also.

Pipe or Can???

Kelsey,

Would you have the liberty to say which pipe set or can you've tested? Just like the weight savings and grunt a pipe and or can can make:face-icon-small-ton. I don't want to sacrafice reliability, so if you've tested some, what would be the way to go with your kit?

thanks

H.P NUMBERS

Kelsey does not want to talk horsepower numbers but back awhile ago he posted his drop in kit will make an easy 15 H.P so sometimes he likes numbers if he is trying to sell something I asked several times were he got this number but he is not big enough to tell us on snowest, but most companys do not have to try to sell there stuff on snowest.

Now I am Just waiting for the price..... and availability.

The kit will be offered after this season is completed. We want to log some more miles on it before officially releasing it to the public..

We could not be more pleased with the kit and are very excited about finally having the Pro chassis with the performance it needs and deserves.

I can not talk pricing on the forum.. sorry.. you can check the website for the more specific details
