858 Polaris Pro. Got a great compliment today!

Ran into some fellow Pro riders today on the mountain. 1 was a friend who is one of my Drop in Testers (riding his for 900+ miles so far this season), the other 2 I did not know. (1 with a 2012 Turbo, the other on a 2012 Stock Pro)

We were there with our 858 Pro.
I asked the drop in kit rider to ride the 858 and see if he felt it was enough better to justify the added cost of the 858 kit over the drop in kit. He had been riding his drop in kit for over 900 miles, so he has a REAL good undertanding of how it performs.

After he returned for a fairly long ride (and 1 Stuck!:face-icon-small-win:shocked::nono:) He immediately stated "I'd pay the extra for that" " It just keeps pulling and building track speed"

I said "good, I want to be sure that it is worth the extra coin over the drop in kit"

The Turbo'd Pro rider wanted to ride it as well.. I said, "get on it and go.."

He rode it for a while,, came back and immediately stated " WOW, that is a great running sled".."It pulls like crazy, In fact, I would rather have that than my Turbo". The power is just so linear!. much more fun to ride"

He then asked if I had one in stock to sell.. I told him none currently on the shelf ready to exchange since we are still in development.

Anyway, It was a very nice compliment to have 2 riders compliment how well the sled runs and how strong the engine was. It give some validity to how I thought the sled was performing... but to have it confirmed is always nice!

We will be up there tomorrow is anybody wants to ride it,

Kelsey

stock clutching with the kit ?

Fairly stock clutching.. We have done MUCH tetsing and prefer the Tied over the TSS04, so we have that on there.. But we have a working set up for the TSS04 as well

We will have this available all thru the Summer.. Pricing will be inline with our other big bore prices (can't really talk pricing on the forum:nono:)

What is your "drop in kit"?

Our drop in kit is a clone of what we have been offering for the Ski Doo engines since 2001..

It is a very custom piston and patented head design that addresses the internal issues associated with the engine. It adds significant power and increases reliability as well..

do you offer a turbo specific head with the drop in kit?

how would the 858 take boost!? :face-icon-small-coo

Yes, we could do that no problem.. I can only speculate that the 858 on boost would be a very good match. Solves a known piston issue and adds massive low and top end grunt.. Should be a great match

To anyone wondering. RKT's stuff RUNS.

I ran some of Kelsey's porting and Torq-Line head on my M-8 a couple seasons ago and was completely blown away with how it ran.
It made a believer out of me and a few other guys who rode it (or rode with it).

Have you done any low elevation testing yet? Im riding 1500ft 4500ft, and would be interested in buying a BB kit from you in the future. And on your website, it says you will be realising it by the end of february, is this dead line extended?

Thanks

Can you ballpark a power increase on the 858? I have to believe you've done before/after dyno testing...

Dyno? I think you will find more than a few threads around here questioning the claimed horsepower gains and how he arrived at those numbers without a dyno.

That's aside from the fact that his R&D department consists of having people pay him to be his guinea pig.

Not saying that your stuff isn't good or trying to stir the pot in anyway at all but i have to ask. What did the 3rd guy say about it? Being you didn't mention him at all other than what he rode, did he ride it and not like something about it so you didn't mention it? Just curious

I saw the formula posted on the website, but I want to know what real world gains there are on a device designed to measure it. Yes, I know you can make a dyno read anything you want, but I'm hoping there are some numbers to compare stock vs the 858.

I'm not trying to start anything, but when a turbo guy says he'd rather have 60cc extra over the hair drier, I have to wonder.

I have a low alt tester on board, so we will get some good info real soon on the low alt performance

3rd guy never got off or started his sled.. So he said nothing... Again, we were there to compare against the drop in kit and that is what we did.. The Turbo rider wanted to ride it, so he did..
