600xp vs 800 rev

Hi guys i have kind of a weird question. I always buy 600cc sleds basicly because i dont care about putting the highest mark on the mountian, i just like to go out and have fun with my buddys on the mountian. and because there about 2 grand cheaper in my neck of the woods. i'm thinking about getting a new 600 summit xp 146". my question is for any body who has one and how they like it. and also how does it compare to the old 800 revs. do you think it would out climb an old style 800 rev with a 144" thanx in advanced.

600 E-tec

Out climbed a 800? No way. You can't compare the new XP to the old Rev style. I have an 06 Summit X 800 151, and this year I snowchecked the wife an 09 XP Summit X 154 600 E-Tec. The new XP is a blast to ride, but no way will this little 600 E-Tec out climb my 800 Rev, way more power on the 800. :D

If you just like boondocking and climbing small hills get the 600, but if you think your going to keep up with the 800 in the climbs on a 600, you better get your self an 800R. :D:D

if you ride a 600 now and like it, i would get the 600 XP. WAYYYYYY less problems historically with the 600 and its fuel injected....

im not a fan of the 800 R.....

its not a xp, but my buddies 07 600 has 4500 miles, original top end....

thanks for the replies so far. i dont care about highmarking but doggonit would'nt it be fun to out climb a couple of my buddys on their 800 revs with a little 600 xp.

i came from a little 600 rev to a 08 800 xp and i really liked my rev but after getting this new sled with the 800 R i wont go back.. you got the power when you need it and i haven't had a problem and i got 800 miles on it.. only has a can and it is the best sled i've owned by far.. but the little 600 e-tec's are a blast to ride.. they do really well for only being a 600...

There are two 600's you can get in the xp chassis. The 500ss or the ETEC. The ETEC is going to be closer in price to the 800r. The 500ss is a great motor with years of dependability and is close to 2k cheaper. I have a few of the 600 xp 146 with the 500ss. They are definitely a great sled and pretty light. They won't climb with the 800's, but they will hang with them boondocking. They are a fun sled. If you are happy with the 600's you've run in the past, I think you would really like the xp. Good luck.
