Took my son's 2017 Assault 800 (he just bought it Sept) into the garage for a look at a squeeling noise he noticed (he seemed to think it was at idle and around 5800 rpm) and found tunnel rivets missing / bent on the PTO side jackshaft bracket as well as a cracked bracket that is fastened to the link torque arm (1019180). We have new motor mounts on order as well as the limiter torque arm bushing (3022281) and replacing all the bracket / footwell rivets. My question is, what do you recommend I do about the broken bracket as I really do not want to change out the tunnel. I took the broken peice out and was surprised that the hole is actually larger than the bolt size, I assume this is because the bearing/jackshaft bracket is what actaully stops the link torque arm flex and the larger hole is to allow movement? I was thinking of making a bracket out of maybe 3/16 steel to reinforce it a bit or does slp have a torque arm anyone would suggest for this side? I think what happened was the motor mount bushings squashed and caused a ton of extra flex on the arm and rivets, eventually cracking the bracket which caused a few rivets to get stressed and pop/ bend? I've read guys noticing the footwell rivet loosening out and starting to vibrate.
