Would like to make room & try a 3" lug track but they are only avalible in 16" wide which doesn't fit my chassie. Talked to Tracks USA about getting something in 15" & he says not much of a demand. Asked about getting 16" cut down but sounds like it would have to be done in the back yard. Has anyone tried to cut down a track?

there was a post about a guy that cut 2 174" tracks down and made a twin track sled out of it with 10" wide strips. it was a custom chassis with rev plastics i think.

mines cut down seems to be holding up fine i saw a post somewhere a company was cutting them with a waterjet. the guy who built the tundra used a skill saw if i remember correctly froms pictures

I've cut a few tracks. Large tablesaw, saw horse on either side of the blade, pipe across the top. Two guys, one feeding, one rolling it back up onto the pipe. Take your time and it works awesome. Worked the best with the track between the blade and the rip fence with scrap having lots of room. Didn't work the other way as well. I will say however, I saw a brand new 3" track blow off 5 lugs in 10 minutes. Turbo 4-stroke, but still...

are you saying that the 3 inch camo is not as strong as the 2.5 camo? the 2.5 camo is strongest track available...i doubt the 3 is that much diffrent in terms of it durability

To start wicked build man!!! How are you and your buddies doing with those 3" track staying together? I have seen 2 this winter that looked chewed right up but were still holding and pulling...

2.5 0n Turbo Nytro lost 2 paddles. 3" on brand new turbo 1200 Ski Doo lost 5. Both in 10 minutes. Look closely, you can see some missing. Sled had 3kms on it.

are you just hit'n crap with it, like logs, rocks & stumps? i have a tnytro and 1600 miles on a camo 2.5 and the track looks great.
i'm wanting to up grade to 174 for next year and i really want to try the 3incher

Can you fit a 3" under your Nytro? I thought I had heard somewhere that the chaincase was part of the bulkhead and there was no way to extend/roll the chaincase.

yes you can move the heat exchanger forward the 1/2 inch and re-mount it (more work then it sounds) or toss it in the trash and get a rear mounted exchanger...thats look like the route ill be going
