2nd bent matryx tunnel.

I'm guessing she goes with thick and no clearance which makes it a draw and settlrs nothing so probably pointless to ask. I ordered the bmp even though there is probably more to the story. Kind of like the 17 doo falling apart due to people running over rocks. Snowmobilers will buy anything

B&M fab 1/8” thick side plates = cheesy

Not clearance cut for factory rivets so it doesn’t fit tight to the tunnel = cheesy

Both B&M fab bumpers I bought had Powdercoating drips and hanging wire blemishes.

Don’t get me wrong.
B&M fab is great in comparison to T rex or skinz but BMP has really stepped up the quality……..

Nice looking product for sure… 1/4” seems like overkill to me, but guaranteed it won’t bend or break without the rest of the sled being totalled

Put some touch up paint on the rivets if it irks you. The pens work wonders. Three light coats.

Fook all the rivet comments and my beer is better than yours. I want to know more about the M12 rivet gun. I am a Milkwaukee whore and I've been thinking about getting one. Worth the money @Sheetmetalfab ?

FYI, I had to cancel my B&M bumper since they could not stick to their shipping schedule and I gave them 10 additional days beyond what they quoted for duration. I leave tomorrow for a 5 week sled trip and can't wait so hopefully I come home and all this supply and labor BS for bumpers is behind us as they'll have the first slug of orders out of the way.....

The m12 rivet gun is worth its weight in gold.

So much nicer than the air riveter I’ve used for so many years.

It pulls in one trigger application.

No pushing the rivet nail out the other side on the reset like the air.

No more listening to the air compressor.

No tangled air hose.

Unfortunately I’ve mangled 2 B&M fab rear bumpers on axys sleds without any other damage to the sled.

Re entries…….

Just a question has anyone thought about just de-riveting the back section and removing it completely and making a bumper to end there? You would have to remount the light but you wouldn’t have to worry about a bent tunnel again or get the tunnel hung up… The Lynx runs a pretty short tunnel.

until you get caught between the track and the tunnel. pray you have your tether on.

I want to see how the BMP holds up for the season.
They honestly look like the only durable solution at the moment.
1/4" plate is not enough. BMP is 1/2" At the rear?

Think your measurements are skewed. I have trailers made of 1/4”.
No way in hell someone is building a bumper of 1/2” steel.
That’s heavier than my 18 k winch bumper.

Do you think just adding rivets halfway between each factory screw would make it much stronger ?
After you remove the factory bumper and feel how light it is?

Add some additional strength to it maybe?

Bend a loop of conduit and through bolt it on top the bumper to stiffen it for cheap?

Then add rivets.

2-3 between each bolt.

BMP is 2 peice!
Looks like 1/4" each, overlapping.
Could be 3/16".

Either way, it's aluminum, not steel and i guarantee 1/4" aluminum plate bumpers are going to bend on the Matryx!

@Sheetmetalfab could you please provide the actual measurements of the BMP plates? Thank u.
