2025 Ski-Doo Rumors and Predictions

Maybe its electric motor. :ROFLMAO:
I think this is more of a possibility and some realize. BRP said a few years ago that they would have an electric model in all product lines by 2026. Maybe it will roll out with the G6? I could very well see the first generation being adapted to work in an existing chassis, and then a electric specific chassis released.

Of which I'll never buy or ride

My predicitions: Doo will get a big bore NA with no weight gain and GPS in the gauge but no improvements on buddy tracking this year, Polaris, a new clutch and lower the price on the 9R as they will already know of Doo's big bore at their later release. All will offer 3 year warranty and BNGs. Nothing more for the mountain segment other than the Cat 858.

A 9R competitor of sorts is no doubt in the works. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see it in 2025.

Not really a prediction… but Doo needs to do what both Polaris and Cat have now done and focus on less parts/fasteners. I have always hated working on BRP stuff, nothing goes together or comes apart easily. Fewer parts is the best solution to that, and the weight loss is an added bonus.

Less is more, unless you are talking HP, traction and floatation.

Yah, thats whats needed alright, I see the quality of how a Polaris is put together on the matryx I worked on. Hard pass on going backwards in that department.

You definately can't be talking about the plastics.

Meh. Our Turbo works so much better on the bottom end than the Boost. The Polaris camp needs the 9R I don’t think Doo does. You can tree ride the Turbo at a much slower pace and still have grunt where the Boost you don’t get that luxury slow to react on the bottom end. Heard the 24’ boosts are better but still not where the turbo is.

I think if Doo does a bigger displacement motor it will have a turbo attatched to it. The 9R is impressive for 50ft than it’s not much different than the 850’s we currently have. I think a well clutched 850 keep up to a 9R all day.

I doesn't matter what you think, it matters what Doo thinks will bring 9R fans to BRP. If Doo believes it will take a light weight big bore to pull market share from the 9R then they might build it. If guys have not come to Doo yet for the current offering, they are simply not interested. I ride Polaris and the current offerings from BRP don't thrill me. Too heavy, poor handling and too many pieces of hood/plastic parts etc. Now saying that I am getting closer to coming back to Doo every time they lighten up and clean up their design. The product is much more attractive than 5 years ago.

I am talking about that, tape holding the belly pan gaps together under the pipe on the Polaris where a pop rivet would have held the gap shut.

Then why do Doo hoods and air vents etc always need replacing when a doo contacts a tree, even the skis fold up.

Where did I say anything about lowering the quality?

The turbo R is incredible, not here to argue that. There still is a market for NA sleds due to the lower weight and simplicity… especially at lower elevations, and I see Doo wanting to build a “competitor” to the 9R. The 850 Etec isn’t gonna be the NA big dog forever.

Haha thanks tips that’s what all these forums are filled with people personal opinions [emoji23] I see way more boosts than 9R’s I could be out to lunch I dont think the market is that big for “big bores”. First year I’m sure they saw big sales numbers then everyone realized it’s dosent compare to a boost and it’s damn near for the same price. Seeing lots of 24 9R’s sitting in dealerships right now.

When you get sick of putting a Costco sized crate of spark plugs in your machine and torquing your p22 every ride we will welcome you back to Skidoo anytime.

Definitely still a market for N/A sleds. I think the 9R sold really well first year based on hype. 2nd year not so much. Don’t see many 24 9R’s on the mountain lots on dealership floors.

Everyone I talked to that’s owns one says the same thing about the 9R it’s good but it’s not a boost. Boost will fix your bad line choice or make it even worse I suppose [emoji23] have a few buddies that went back to the boost after one season of 9R ownership.

I can be completely wrong I just don’t think Doo will offer two N/A options when there turbo sells so well. We will get a big displacement motor sooner than later they just won’t mess around it will be Turbo and N/A.

I've had and rode everything. I love the 9r. You are right that a 9r is not a boost. Anyone that bought one thinking it's a boost killer is an idiot. They are more fun in tighter trees and lesser snow. They are just another option. I don't even know if doo needs a competitor. They might already have one. They always had better bottom end on 850s. I haven't rode a na doo since 2020. Seems to me you see a bunch of 9rs, besides boosts. I don't see any gen 5 na doos. Everyone is on turbos. Maybe doo does need it.
