2023 cat reveal!!

looks good to me. i think its going to make the ascender feel like an old boat. the single beam just looks right under this sled imo. i wonder if handling characteristics of the taller/lighter/more compact chassis will mask over some of the traits people dont like about the alpha skid. I mean, the M version was designed with the alpha rail in mind whereas the last sled it was just slapped under. new spindles look great, lower COG... I dont know if id want a twin rail version without riding it for a while first.
this is obviously a staged release, gonna ramp up as it gets into season. marketing genius' comments get old imo. Buncha mean girls!
chassis looks killer! no more goofy ski loops and bulky tail light/flap combo. Its got the built in lunch pale over the headlight every fat boy needs :p they were listening for sure. One thing i will say is the slash tunnel on the poo is still ahead of the game, i dont know if they have some kind of patent on dove-tailing tunnels or cat was just afraid to find out, but i think squared off rear sections will go away eventually, all makes.
nice sled though cat!
Do you think releasing this thing in a 600 the first year was a good marketing move? Cuz I don’t ?

Trail sled… ok. Mountain sled… are they stupid?

Yep could nt agree more stupid move release it with the 800 c teck then make the new motor a option when its ready . Im still on the 2012 proclimb so a ittle hesitant to jump on the first year release but I probably would if it wasnt a 600, although I havent had a trouble with my 2012.

Are we sure it’s only going to be a 600 option? Or are we just speculating because that’s the only thing they revealed at haydays? I sure hope they offer it in an 800 option or I don’t know what I’ll buy. It’s sure not going to be a 600.

Seems to me they have plenty of time to get an 800 in there by 2024. I know Arctic Cat is small by corporation standards but are they lacking that much manpower to get it an 800 figured out by then? This is definitely a step in the right direction for us faithful, it would be nice for them to finish it! Hopefully we get more details such as overall width and heighth compared to Ascender Alpha chassis. That's what I'm waiting for. Looked higher but not any narrower from the pics I saw.

I heard 2” narrower bodywork

Narrower is what I was expecting when the adapt clutch was released last year. I think Cat did a good job over the years improving a good platform. Doo has done the most extensive changes over the years to a chassis while Poo is second. This is in no means a reference to who has the best mountain sled. I am used to my Proclimb chassis sleds and have bought and ridden the other brands over the years and still prefer the feel of my Cats. Hoping that "feel" is similar but improved on the new chassis.

This thread needs the name changed, it's a 2024.
Also funny that last year the story was they had something ready and being tested, but not completely finished. Then this shows up like a concept car totally not ready, tested, or even solid on a motor choice
I bet the final version is electric
I was going to laugh about it being electric, but the way our Govt. is going, I wouldn’t doubt it.

I would assume Yamaha and Arctic no longer sharing chassi 2024/2025 with this move.. Your not getting the 998 sidewinder into that frame. So eather Yama will sell arctics old chassi and their engine or its a clean break when arctic moves to only this chassi.
I’ve seen that motor stuffed in a Polaris pro chassis. I would think as long as they designed the bulkhead to do it they could pretty easily fit it in a package that small. IMO if the weight reduction people are speculating and claiming is there, adding the 998 would still put it on par with a skidoo 850t for weight. I think that would make a great contender out of the 4s finally in the non-chute climbing side of mountian riding.

I cannot see cat being satisfied with only offering a 600 For the 2024 production season. But I could see it being a 600 only option on early build model. I really believe there will be additional engine options at Spring order Spring order time.

I agree. Would not be surprised at all to see every dealer get a couple towards the end of this season and a bigger motor released for snowcheck

well, youre still talkin about it arent you :ROFLMAO:
not bad...
It will ramp up, its a move. You know theyre saving the 3.0 and floats (like 15 pounds?) and the green and purple for something bigger.

would the marketing genius' say this sled was over-hyped for what it is (too much marketing) or are we complaining that cat doesnt have a marketing team still, i dont care anyways actually.
Bitching would be about the same if it was the same ol 800 in there. it was marketed as new Platform reveal. im just scoping out the chassis for now. wonder how she feels balance wise, hopefully better than a lifted ascender.

The "7 highlights" mentioned above is a good read. Cat doesn't really mention motors anywhere. I think they like to tease us with not releasing every detail at once. Its pretty smart marketing and will get them a lot more attention from now until snow check. Personally I could see this being the one and only 600 I will ever snow check. Seeing it in person, it really is cool and I think it will be a super fun sled (even if its a 600). Based on seeing how every component and part was changed I could easily see it lighter than an Axys 155, which were 415 dry.

I'm with you, I'm seriously considering snowchecking one next year. If it's fairly cheap I might just do it.

800 Axys was even lighter, 408 I think. I saw one random comment somewhere on the interweb claiming 390lbs dry which is pretty impressive, especially if their bigger motor is close to the same.

I wonder about a V shaped large displacement 2 stroke engine to fit a narrow chassis. Yamaha had a V 4- 2 stroke in the RZV 500 bike.

Good stuff coming in the next 4 months. I know people that know people that rob people. LOL. The reveal sucked, but it wasn't a full reveal. Bookmark this. In 3-4 years, Cat will own the market.
