...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY TO 5 PM MST SUNDAY...

* IMPACTS...A LARGE WINTER STORM MAY PRODUCE WIDESPREAD TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. ICY AND SNOWPACKED ROADS ARE POSSIBLE. ISOLATED ROAD CLOSURES ARE POSSIBLE.

* TIMING...LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON. SEVERAL
ROUNDS OF HEAVY SNOW ARE LIKELY BEGINNING FRIDAY NIGHT WHICH WILL PERSIST THROUGH SUNDAY. THERE WILL BE BREAKS IN THE SNOW.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 12 INCHES BY SATURDAY EVENING AT
PASS LEVEL WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES AT VALLEY FLOORS. AN ADDITIONAL
3 TO 7 INCHES IS POSSIBLE ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

Our plan is to drive out Monday...wonder if we'll need our beacons in Bismarck? I am not too sure we will get past there but remain hopeful!

I'm headed out on Sunday evening from the rochester area. I think I'll stay on i90 in the rain than up 94 in the freezing rain.

Might be good idea. About the same distance from Roch but probably a couple hours longer for you to go i90. Looks like a lot of snow that night in the western nd.

Very short news report said they were low on gas, disoriented, built fire and spent the night, helped out next day by sar, all are well.

From jamestown nd to Montana line there is quite a bit of snow already on ground just with high winds it will limit visibility add 6 inches of snow the interstate will be shut down they have already used catipiliars to push snow back on overpasses. I would go 90 if I had choice I'm in billings and it's snowing here.

I have family in Bismarck and all I will say is, Christmas day and night does not look good for travel. It's not worth it guys. $.02

We shipped sleds out yesterday and chartered a flight to skip to Bozeman Tuesday morning to avoid the roads ?

Snow Report for 12/25... Currently around 20 degrees, calm winds, and light to moderate snow falling. We picked up about 4" at the beginning of the week, and another 8"+ since Friday night. Closing in on that three foot number
Please keep in mind when you come up here to ride, to not be one of the 10%'s and wander into the closed areas. Lot's of people worked real hard to keep Mt. Jefferson open, it's well marked, don't be that guy, it's too well marked anymore to make excuses

Snow Report for 12/26...Currently 15 degrees with light to moderate snow falling, a few occasional gust, probably blowing up high. Been snowing pretty steady since my last report, another six inches +, I'd say at this point we can call it pretty near a** deep at 6300, it's gotta be getting stupid deep up high....
