I can easily lift a fully dressed 800 by myself, but you pretty much need a small crane for the 1050. Its bigger in every dimension as well.
I will see if I can track down actual numbers, but I would put some ca$h on it that it's close to double.
Lmao there not that heavy buddy i pack my apex motor like fk all. Maybe I'm a small crane or just dont wear panties. But the motors are not double. Yamaha makes a tough sled period. There is alot of places to drop weight besides the motor to get the weight down. There sleds have always been heavier but have always been far more durable than other sleds.
I love clowns like you who make bold berating statements but can't back them up.
I made a phone call to Xtreme Powersports, and got shipping weights on both engines...

The 800R weighs in at 79 lbs
The Yamaha 1049cc engine comes in at 144 lbs
If thats not close to double then I don't know what is.
I know that Yamaha makes a tough sled.... and I agree with you there. You got totally derailed on the point I was making.
Did that 3 years ago.
That went over REALLY WELL !!
My revised and reconsidered prediction is new big dog sled to replace apex (possibly boosted) and minor ergonomic changes to the Nytro with 4 or 5 pounds shaved off..
We have weighed the 1050 and it is pretty much bang on 110 lbs. There is about 30 lbs diff. What is the weight difference between a 2-stroke 800 and and 1050 Nytro motor? We all know it's heavier but does anyone know the real numbers for just the motors?
