2012 Little Truckee Summit Snow Conditions

We rode in to White Rock Lake today and there was a good 3 feet. The roads got beat up. We did get off trail and was great but scary. Great to get out with old and new friends.

Great deal !

Ya was thinking of Mammoth this weekend but I am sure it is or will be very beat up by Saturday.

Steve thanks again for showing me around.Look forward to more riding up there with you.Hopefully with alot more snow. Tom

Just came back tonight. Been gone for two days. The snow we got is melting fast. I hate reporting this kind of news. There is very little snow on the 07 road for the first two miles. The 10 day forecast is not good. Way to warm up here right now and we need snow bad. That new Pro is mine.

Worth the trip?

Have been thinking about trying to get out somewhere on Sunday for a day trip, but would be coming from the Bay Area. Does anyone have a positive report that says it might be good anywhere? I'd go anywhere at this point as the weather doesn't look like it's going to be opening up a lot more opportunity any time soon.

Steve, is it worth heading up to LTS?

It got cold tonight , down to 8 . That's good. All the trails are groomed. So if you can handle trail riding is great. Sure beats sitting on the couch. Better get out ride before it melts.

Great Ride Today

We went out with Nick and his dad today for a ride to Bassets. All the trails were groomed to go 80 mph. We found some north facing hill and had a blast. This is znick getting some air and doing some sidehilling. On the way back we decided to take the 12 road and we came up on this guy (Ben) that fell off his sled and broke his leg bad. Nick had his Garmin Rino and we were able to get latitude and longitude for care flight. We went down the road about 2 miles and cell phone worked. We had care flight there within 15 minutes. We started a fire and they said that is a good thing to do. Also at night they said you can flash your cell phone light and they can see 20 mile away with their night vision. Good Luck Ben

Good work taking care of the injured man.

How did he get hurt? Just by falling and catching it wrong .... boy that is scary.

Ben was not in our group. He was there for two hours when we fiound him .
We did not have much time to talk to him but I am guessing he got his foot caught in the footwell of his Polaris Assault and got pitched off. I have had this happen to me having the sled dragging me. Yes very scary.

trackman hows the snow holding up? was thinking of a road ride this weekend. still staging at the lot or has it moved down?

We have been gone. Came in last night in the jeep and there is lots of pavement on the 07 road for the first 4 miles. The trail head is still at the parking lot. Boy I just don't know? We need snow bad and there is none in the forecast.

thats good news, took the kids out to yuba pass Saturday, the trails are still in good shape, made it down to lincoln valley and played around a bit nice day out. Hope this weather starts producing!

Valentines Day Ride

We got up to Meadow Lake today and there was a good 12"of new snow on the North slopes but on the South slopes, the snow was melting fast. We got off trail on a North slope hill and had a blast. Hope we get some more snow out of this new storm tonight. We both love snowmobiling so why not go on Valentines day. What did you do with your Valentine today?
