2012 Little Truckee Summit Snow Conditions

Came in last night on the 07 road and it was snowing good. We only got 1" last night. We will be preparing for the big one tonight. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Steve's house is at Coppins Meadow.

Pretty sure it is about 6800'.

It's 8:40pm now and RAINING at my place in Alpine Meadows at 6900'. Sucks.

Temps in Truckee should be below freezing at 6AM SAT and stay that way all day then go to 20F by Sunday.

Sunday above freezing noon to 5 PM high 38F

Second storm ... the bigger one SUN night MON morn in the high 20's

TEMPS TUES low 30's

WED-FRI in the high 40's low 50's

No storms after Monday.

New Snow

It rained here until 1, then started snowing. We got 6" so far. Snowing right now. I am going to the parking lot and getting my truck out. Hope this is it and I can put the tracks on the jeep.

Just got back from parking lot and we passed 10 sleds. 6' At parking lot and 10" up here. Still snowing. Hope it keeps up.

Yep, 6" at the parking lot.

It was actually better than I thought it was going to be for a road ride. There are 2 foot wind deposits and 2inch wind scoured areas, the only tracks I saw off trail were mine. Thought for sure I was going to lose an A-arm, track hit a few things, spun down to dirt in a couple of areas.....

Enough snow at LTS to road ride without dropping down to the dirt/pavement? Was thinking of running up there today for a test and tune.

I've got roughly 8" & I'm at about 6450' but right out my backyard is 8400' martis peak. I really want to just test & tune tomorrow. I saw a 06 dodge w/ a sled deck & two RMK's on the back going up my street at about 6:00. maybe ill see one of the guys up there on the forum,

New Snow

We got a good 12" of new snow last night. Wet, good for base. Today looks good for more snow but, the 10 day all sun not good.

Today"s Ride

I love living up here when it snows and the sun come out in the middle of the day. 2 feet at house and 3 feet up top. Got a few miles on the sled. Snow's great. Lots of new fresh on the fire roads. Had a great time today tearing it up.

where was that and what altitude is "up top"? Thanks for the update man! I been thinking maybe DLI but there isnt much for safe road riding up there.

We rode in to White Rock Lake today and there was a good 3 feet. The roads got beat up. We did get off trail and was great but scary. Great to get out with old and new friends.
