February 11, 2013 Rockin' M Snow Report

February 11, 2013
It was socked in early Friday through Saturday. It only put down a little over an inch in the valley. Renters coming back from the Box Y said they received about 6" and Blindbull about a foot. Snotel sites look like 6"+ on top. It is currently sunny and cold this morning -13 degrees at 7:00 a.m. Warming up quickly.

Rockin M Snow Report February 19, 2013

February 19, 2013
This last week we had several dustings of snow in Alpine and Star Valley, but no more than about an inch in the Valley (more up high) from any one storm. Renters have reported good riding with plenty of softer snow to be found. Nothing over the handlebars, yet good riding. Avalanche danger is up right now. Overall the snowpack in the snake river drainage (Jackson, Star Valley, Togwotee, Etc.) is at 90% of average. The snotel sites are as follows:
Blind Bull 53"
Spring Creek (Afton) 61", 65" a few days ago
Willow Creek (Bedford) 55"

The prediction is for snow everyday from now until next Tuesday with a break in storms on Sunday. I will report later.

February 24, 2013
It snowed about 6" in Star Valley and Alpine over the weekend. Renters reported 8-14" up high. Other renters claimed 2-3' feet of newer powder in the Strawberry and Willow creek areas. Jackson hole resort is reporting 16" in the last 48 hours.

3/11/2013 Rockin' M Snow Report Alpine, Wyoming

3/11/2013
Snowtel sites are showing about 3-6" up high in the last few days. Luckily we have not seen any rain this last few days. It has been snowing but not cold enough to stick in the valley. Conditions are definetely getting spring like down low. I would expect to find good conditions over 8000 feet. A few groups that rode blind bull over the weekend claimed to find great snow. We are forecast to have a three day warm spell from Wednesday to Saturday followed by a cold front with some snow into the first part of next week.
