2012/13 Togwotee snow conditions

MacKenzie Highland Ranch

MacKenzie Highland Ranch has anyone stayed at this place? We have a group of around 9 or 10 people going and would all like to stay at the same place. We for sure do not want to trailer our sleds. Any recommendations? We are going over the New Years weekend, we have already found, Crooks, TML and Lava are booked. Please if you have any suggestions post. Thanks!

We stayed at heart 6 guest ranch a few years ago. You couldnt ride from the lodge but we left our trailer and sleds at hatchet motel which was a real short drive [5 min]. They had a card trol gas station at hatchet to fuel the sleds. Heart 6 leaves their rentals here too so it was pretty safe. There was another ranch called turpin meadow that you could ride from not sure if it still is in buisness or not.

Rode up there this last weekend. Snow was ok, but not great. I thought it would be better from what I saw on here. Was very tracked up by sunday but was snowing when we left. Talked to a couple from out by cook city and they said there was way more snow in cook.

It's real good Ross probably better snow now than the end of January last year. We are supposed to get dumped on the next few days.

How much more did we get up there last night? We had a good 2' in Coyote Creek and 3 up on the Divide weekend before last. I'm contemplating whether I'm going to the Snowies since they are expecting 3 to 4 feet!

We are out here now. Snow is okay but everything is pretty well tracked up. Not sure what the forecast is but if they don't get anymore fresh I'm not sure it'd be worth it to drive from Iowa. We are heading back to Iowa tomorrow afternoon ill try and post some pics then.

You just got to know where to go rode all day today and the past few days still good snow and lots of untracked areas. The base is starting to get setup but still a good time!

Been riding out of TML since Thursday. CD is pretty beat up for the most part, best riding has been to the West off of K and W near East Leidy. Forecast is showing a storm coming through tonight into Christmas Eve with 10-15 inches or so. Hope this helps...

Crooked Creek / Togwotee riding area

Forecast looks really good the next few days, will be out on 12/28 and returning 1/1/13. Staying at the Line Shack lodge! First trip to the Togwotee area. Just curious, are there any good hills to climb close to Line Shack ? Lava Moutain have some good hills to climb? How long of a ride from Line Shack? Anyone have any suggestiions please let me know! Thanks in advance for any and all help!!
