2012/13 Togwotee snow conditions

The staff at Tog are telling people that they got an unexpected foot of fresh snow last night with more on the way?!?!? Is it good out there?

I will be able to tell you tomorrow night. Heard they got fresh snow over the weekend also.

We have a big group of flatlanders at Lava Mountain Lodge this week, 21 in the crew total. 15 rode in our extended sleeper rv, and 6 flew in.

There was a little dusting of fresh Monday night and storm is rolling today and late this week with 6-18 in the forecast for the high country.

The conditions are getting better after last weeks warm up, this week has had a few cold night to base stuff above 8500 back up. Below 8500 you will likely find sugar.

Base is hard. A good amount of fresh snow on top of it. Been snowing all day. Higher up in the trees the snow is good and there is good riding where the sun hasn't settled the snow along the treeline.

Fresh spring snow in the mountain west.

A light dusting here at Lava Mountain Lodge translated to 15 inches at elevation near the cliffs.

With the stalling cold front over the area and more fresh in the forecast, the riding should be good for awhile.
