2012/13 Togwotee snow conditions

Just got back from a week at Togwotee. Best snow we found was off of T trail on our last day. Over the hood in some of the meadows and trees - Just need to get off the trails and go find it. Alot of areas we found had no tracks or just a few but plenty of good snow out there.
The lodge area is pretty well hammered though. I wouldn't recommend anything near the lodge or by Lava Mountain where we stayed all week.

Just got back myself, If you wanted snow you had to search deep in the trees...which for us is what we do anyway...
creek bottoms and tight trees were yours for the taking if you wanted
minus the tree falling on sled and bending my steering post
...overall good trip

Welll...the tree got to my sled before Cody did so we couldnt remote tune.
He will be coming through my city shortly for another tune and we plan to meet up then.

I hope this one does not fizzle! Its for moran which is a bit lower then tog usually tog gets a bit more! Headed to tog fri morning!

The snow is there. We just got back last saturday morning. Head into the trees and up the creeks and drainages.
road the 28th - 30th out of the Togwotee lodge. didn't have any issues finding good stuff. was snowing pretty good when we left.

Doesn't Tog Mtn Lodge have non-ethanol? I know in Dubuois, Wy you can get non-ethanol.

Two Ocean Closure
I took this from RMOD800 from another section:
There will be a public comment period for the proposed future use of this area. There will be comments heard from forest users concerning the potential restriction of snowmobile use of Two Ocean Mountain and areas north of the highway (Breccia Cliff Area). This is the final meeting and a decision will be made by the Forest Service.
All users, including riders that generally use Togwotee and may not ride in the more technical areas mentioned, are urged to attend the meeting. If you are not heard, don't plan on riding the area mentioned in the future.
The back country skiiers that are promoting this action, are well organized and have done a good job on commenting and lobbying the Forest Service. The snowmobile community has been way to complacent and need to organize to combat this attack on multi use of Federal Lands.
The meeting is at 6:00 p.m., February 13, at the Dubois High School (Wyoming). Hope you can attend to voice a united front against this injustice."
They are trying to shut down Two Ocean Mountain to us snowmobilers. We need support!

Myself and seven others are departing from central SD to Tog in the morning. Staying at Dubois Super 8 this time.
