2012/13 Snowy Range snow conditions

Hey Dan , you in Iowa? Would be up for a spring ride if you would be up to it. Only got 125 miles on the sled this year. Should bring a good snow check for Skiwiz next year

We're in Iowa, finished planting corn this morning (yea). Probably not going back out for awhile. 125 miles:eek::eek::eek: I turned over 2k on the 13 last week.:D

Can I ride out of Ryan Park (Enough Snow)?

Hopefully Ben will be along and give you an update. We were at Chains End a little over a week ago and there was plenty of snow there. Gotta ask, why not go out of Greenrock? At this point in the season ya shouldn't have to battle too big of crowds. As I type this though, I have to recall 2 weekends ago there was a boatload of trailers.:face-icon-small-win

Going to be snobiking outa chains end sat and sun should be great in the trees! Were not done yet in the snowies!

Haha -

The fam took a drive up to chains end last night. There is about 6" of new snow at Ryan park, it is still possible to ride from the lower lot... North f creek road still looks to have good coverage, But I would say riding from ten mile is a no go (unless u really really like riding on sage brush.

There was slightly more than 6" at chains end- heavy wet snow.

Woke up this morning to 15 inches of snow, very little if any corn planted around here in Goodhue, mn.

Ha Ha, this year it feels like the tundra. Too bad we've had more winter since spring arrived than we had during the winter. Last year we had a lot of the corn up by now and most of the soybeans planted. December rained at 20 degrees, now it snows at 35 degrees.

Just rode all over around widow maker in the trees with the mountain horses, great riding! Saw the blowers and plows getting ready to open the road at chains end ! Didnt see any tracks up where we were but 2 skis dont normally go where we go anyway!get while you can!!!and NO you cant ride from rendevous or any where before chains end!

I rode out of my buddies cabin @ Ryan park this afternoon..and my sled never touched dirt..... if the temps stay high the snow down low will burn of soon.

You must know a back way all I saw was MUD from the rendevous to the parking lot at chains end.

well yea.. :face-icon-small-coo there is still snow from the lower lot all the way up.

the trail is down to mud where it runs next to the highway.

Next time your down this way hit me up, id like to see how the mtnhorse kits do.

Tons of snow up top yet. Rode out of green rock, road was still completly covered sat/sun past snowy mnt lodge. 2 blowers also in the parking lot, guessing they will start opening road any day now.
Checked the base with avy probe and it was around 8 ft and that was around T trail warming hut, Much more snow on the back side. I would say lots of places with 10-15 feet yet. Most snow I have seen on Libby flats in a long time.
Is it worth riding.....ah Nope. Need to hit fresh snow or a 60* day to have much fun. You can climb anything you choose and lots of stuff to jump but very hard landing. Eric
