2012/13 Snowy Range snow conditions

It snowed almost all day yesterday. It keeps looking better and better out here. We found some great stuff yesterday. Trees are still your best bet but there are some meadows that are pretty fun with the new snow (just need to find them.) Locals are calling for more snow today starting this afternoon. We found a lot of stuff on N yesterday West of the Quealy hut with a ton of stucks.

Get any pics?

Ten Mile Inn update: Wow, what a day. I'm exhausted!!!! I need to upgrade the switchback assault to the Pro RMK. Holy ****, did we find deep deep snow today. And we didn't even have to look for it in the trees today. Actually, we had snow coming over the hood on the trail (V). Here's a few pics from today.. I hope they load.

I'd like to be the first to thank ya for bringing snow!:smow::smow::smow:

Dan, glad we brought the snow with us. Really appreciate all the updates you give us. Glad we could help all the guys with conditions since we are here. Can't wait to get out tomorrow morning. A few Advil and I'll be ready!

Holy smokes..... Were heading out from MI in a few weeks. That looks like a ton of fun!

Good to see conditions are improving and sound great right now. now just hope the base continues to improve and then it dumps on us when we are out there mid March. Was wondering how the permit/licensing works out there? Its been a few years since I've been out there. I think from what I remember when we always came out we would get our non-resident stickers at the gas station that is along with the hotel down in Laramie. Coming from Iowa I wanna say beings we had our Iowa resident stickers we either got discounted Wyoming non-resident stickers or something thing like that... sound right? Or maybe being from Iowa they just made sure we had our Iowa resident sticker too or something I don't know. Just trying to see if I could get some help here on that or what exactly I have to do when I come out because this year in Iowa we have to purchase our resident sticker and a operators permit so two stickers (stupid if you ask me). But just wanted to make sure if I would need both those for some reason to get my Wyoming non-resident that I have them by then. (I've only bout the Iowa Resident sticker so far not the operators permit and still have rode about 120 mile). I know I know....shhhh!

I never buy iowa resident sticker to ride in iowa. you can get wyoming non-resident sticker at any gas station that sell in laramie or friendly store in cenntenial. some are require to have VIN #. Cost you $26 (Am I right? I havent went out west this year)

Looking to ride on Saturday

With the recent dumps of snow, I'm looking for a group to possibly ride with on Saturday, out of either Albany or Centennial. I just moved out to Cheyenne from eastern SD to be closer to the snow! Thinking I might try to get out Saturday morning if I can find a group to go with. PM me if you've got room!

Go to Friendly and you do not need Vin# anymore.

I was out to Wyoming last year and all we had to do was buy the out of state license for $25 plus if you wanted to donate $1 for the mtn rescue you could (dont know why they would give ppl an option!). We stayed at albany lodge, got our out of state license there with no vin# or any questions on the license from MN. I dont know if this has changed for this year tho as I have not been out there yet? Will be heading there in two weeks tho!:face-icon-small-hap

Always donate your $1! It shouldn't be an option!
