Looking to come out on the first of the year.. sure hope this slow start to the season changes or its going to be one long year :face-icon-small-fro

jeeze I don't know what was worse this year or last year.. I suppose its better now when I am in college and can't afford to go out anyway...

I was pleasantly surprised this morning that all of my buildings were still standing, for all that wind we deserve some snow and cold now! Rain in december is just wrong.

I drove back to sheridan last night around 10 pm and seen 60 degrees in my truck... Then the big winds picked up!

Sure will hate to have to go somewhere else for the second part of the first trip..or even worse cut it short :face-icon-small-sad .......why can't the snow that is hitting Tog drop a few feet at bear just to get us started

update

Had 2 sledders come by lodge today about lunchtime. They were out for about 4 hours in and around the lodge, medicine wheel and FR13. Made good tracks up hill towards medicine wheel and out in open meadows. They Parked at mm76. (the brake check turn out area) (good only till monday at noon) From what I saw they didn't hit and rocks or dry spots. Still using ATV to get down to Crystal Creek rest area from lodge. 14a was completely dry and only a little snow on shoulder for sleds right now.

Wyoming High Country Lodge Snow Level

No new snow yesterday or last night. I have an old Polaris we could sacrafice if that would help?

14a was closed yesterday at the Crystal Creek Rest Stop (MM75) at noon. Had to pass another "road closed local traffic only" sign at Five Springs Campground to get to the rest stop. ATV'd back to lodge from there. Weird going up and down 14a on atv with no one else around.

Got some rooms paid for the 21-27 and 28-30 Dec. Hope there is snow by then. Otherwise, I'll bring back the horses for trail rides!!

Wyoming High Country Area Snow Levels

Nothing today. Snow might stay farther west wed-fri? Sorry to post such bad/depressing pics from area. Wind has blown a lot of it away since my last trip out. As much as I'd like to have the business thought it would be better to show the truth.........

<!-- -->Heavy Rain Tapering Off in Pacific Northwest

After nearly a week of heavy rain, much of the Pacific Northwest will see a break as precipitation tapers off during the day on Wednesday. Northern California, however, could still see some moderate rain on Wednesday. Meanwhile, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across parts of the Southeast on Wednesday.

Those pictures just blow me away, there really is no snow up there. My group has rode almost every Thanksgiving weekend up there for years, but we obviously didn't this year. We are headed to Cooke this weekend to see how that is. I hope this storm pans out!

Forecast looks good, snotel is going up at baldy and burgess, plus it is snowing at my house right now. Already rode some of the beaters around in the past couple storms but I may have to break out my sled in the morning so that it remembers what snow looks like! :face-icon-small-ton

Snowing pretty good in sheridan too, wish it would dump it all on the mountain though. Be interesting to see what we get out of the storm system.

From the looks of things 7-12 inches of new snow on the north horns from last night. Calling for another foot by sunday and then snow likely monday and wednesday. :bounce:
