Thanks for the report but you might want to rethink the tearing up all the areas your guests are heading up to ride on. Just say'n.![]()
Only displayed one of my 5 uploaded photos.
When we left deer haven it was snowing HARD. I would say that as far as snow shoe Ish was rideable off trail. I would be carefull cutting across to much open cross country but if you stick to the trees you should be fine and be able to find the good stuff. My group found it EXTREMLY hard to ride tight trees though because like I said there was NO BASE. You didn't have a whole lot of control of your sled because the snow pulled you and TOLD YOU WHERE TOU WERE GOING. Once we got the hang of it though it wasn't to bad. Just a warning of what we had though. A crusted layer on top with powder under it. Still a Tom better then the hard pack though. Smart thing to be riding from the south end.
Only 2" stuck to the ground the last 24 hours. Wind blew the rest of it away. Next chance (60%) if due fri/sat/sun.
LOL..I'll be going far away from the lodge...from what I've been told after next weekend we won't see guests or visitors even when we get the good dumps. They tell me we sit empty for Apr/May with no one coming in to play. They tell me the 2-4' dumps that come in late Mar/Apr and May are great to ride, but the locals or the out of staters are mowing lawns so they don't even think about coming back up to ride. I hope they are wrong.

A few late April and May rides in the Horns. Big dumps, NO people, good roads, nice weather.....mowing grass is grossly over rated! See you soon!
Can anyone give me a guess on what Monday and tuesday's riding would be like . I live in ne. ia. and have a chance to head out tomorrow and ride those 2 days - would it be worth the trip ?
