2010/11 Togwotee snow conditions

The season has started with a bang. Rode Sun. what a gas..... With the early snow, the short storms, and the missed storms, we have a great base with top powder.I stopped digging my pit at 5 ft at 10,000 ft.That spot had a 8 in powder cover as well.The CD trail out from the lodge has good cover. The ponds are almost froze. I'm refering to the ponds on the trail. I would say great early season conditions. Togwotee lodge will NOT have rooms or cabins available til Dec. 1 Then its no anything for a week til they open Dec 5th? If you stay there its bring your everything. The gas pumps take cards. Food is available in Dubois, Lava MTN. lodge, Jackson. For those in need of an early ride fix, come on....

11/23/10 Snow snow and more snow. Oh and cold as well. Ingredients for fun in the snow, check! It's been snowing for days and days now building a base that up high is getting pretty deep. Of course we can use more but I'm not complaining with what we have right now. Union is getting hit hard finally and Dubois actually has snow on the ground now. If your thinking about coming up this week or weekend good decision because its worth it. The roads around here are pretty icy past Dubois so drive carefully, I have no idea what the road from Jackson is like probably even worse. Use good Judgement and have a frickin blast out there!

hey stuckey, paid attention,carter=guides there,he will make ya wet around the knees,but you have to pay+tip,well worth it,dosey wales here,50,ooo miles at tog,have gun will travel,come out and play w/it,next week,we really have a blast most days-but ya have to pay-odw

Just so we are clear......... my posting of snow info and area conditions has nothing to do with me being a guide at Togwotee. Its a straight foward info thing so you can plan or not come or can't come or come out and buy me a coke at happy Hour. If you ride with me its a bonus for both of us. Rode Sunday,...since then we got 15 inches. Gotta be some great powder riding now as we had the base already. More later...

thanks for the updates carter. we really appreciate them. the wife and i will be out january 9-15th. cannot wait to get back to togwotee pass area. with the early snow base, it should make for a great season. bringing a newbie with us, going to show him what back country riding is REALLY all about. hopefully we dont wear noah out in the 5 days we are there. Thanks guys for all the info the snow must be coming along wayyy better then last year. Coming out for 8 days jan 14, I start shaking everytime I see the deep snow pics keep em coming.

Just wondering if anyone has any snow conditions for around togwotee area. Im leaving next thursday for either togwotee or the snowies....any snow in the forecast has anyone heard? Any help will be great

according to the NWS their supposed to get 1-3 today, 2-4 tonight and 5-9" tomorrow.. I think were headin up there around christmas, cant wait!!
