2009-2010 Valemount Conditions

There was still tons of untouched when we left, but i must have passed 20 trucks last night and more going through this morning. You snooze you loose!:beer;

Hey it was good to Meet you glassman. we hit it up again today and there is still lots left to be had. I posted all my pics on snow and mud.

We have been riding Allen Creek the last two days. For mid-November the conditions rock! There is still some fresh pow if you look hard enough. The skies are looking like they are clearing up now so I gotta go ride! :D

For early season, we are way ahead of the game and its looking to be a good year so far.

125-150cm total depth so far, thats approx 50cm new snowfall over last weekend. We used my xp as a skidder and hauled some firewood to the cabin so everyone could warm up, that was interesting, still have a bumper !

20cm of snow in the parking lots, with a very nice trail the entire way up. Riders have been good on the throttle and no ice has developed. THANK YOU to everyone for respecting our gate. We hope to set a track next weekend, relock and are planning for grooming Allan the last weekend in November.

Extreme high winds last night and this morning with what looks to be like zero vis conditions and blowing snow out there right now. Sucks for guys trying to ride today, but great for our season.

Its cooled off a bit and snowing like mad up in the hills again. Had a friend go out yesterday by himself (dont worry, he already got an ear full) but he had to try out his new sled before going back on shift. Thought he could meet someone in the parking area, but no one around.

He only made it to 7.5km as the snow was toooooo deeep and drifted that he got completely burried and took over and hour and a half to get himself out. So he turned around.

I wont have first hand info until fri or sat at the lastest, but the conditions are looking SICK !

I will be in Clemina on Sunday inspecting our paralleling trail due to the resident plowing the road. I hope to hang some signs to direct riders for the first 4km of the trail, but there are some creeks that will need sufficient lower valley snow before we can get a groomer through, but we are working on a plan and will inform the public the best we can.

Waiting patiently for an update..... heading up in a couple days, kinda wondering what to expect.
Sounds like everyone is riding mostly Allen.

Hey everyone, the snow in all areas is great and its still coming !

The plan is to have ALLAN and CLEMINA ready for Friday the 27th and throughout the weekend. We will be working a snow bridge accross the little creek for accessing keyhole trail from the clemina lot, on the upcoming weekend

Chappell should be following next week.

NOTE: The first 3km of the Clemina FSR supposed to be plowed this season by a local resident. The backup trail is in great shape, signed well and easy to follow to 3.5km. It begins the same as before, just takes a left turn about .5km in instead of a right onto the FSR at .25km. PLEASE USE THIS ROUTE. WE WANT TO BE SAFE AND AVOID CONFLICT, plus it against the law.

Rode Allan Creek today !!!!!

We rode Allan today. Lots of snow, heavy drifting everywhere, no problems with landmines but if you look hard enough I'm sure you could find 1 or 2.
Trail was being groomed this afternoon, Snow from parking lot up.
Gonna ride there again tomorrow, will post pics tomorrow night.

Looking at five to six hours to Valemount from Edmonton depending on the road conditions. Riding areas are another half an hour or so down the road. Mcbride is about an hour north and west of Valemount and offers some great riding as well!!

Its very warm here in town and has been raining the last few days at low elevation. The tracks are set at allan and Clemina and will be collecting as of tomorrow. Please bear with us as we deal with the early season snow and warm temperatures.
