2009-2010 Valemount Conditions

Hey Guys

A good friend just came into town from Kamloops. He said there was just under a foot in the Allan Parking lot.

Only bad news is that it was raining lightly.

Pouring here in town now, with all lower snow gone, but the hills must be getting hit.

Day off tomorrow, if all goes well, im going to see what I can find

Jasper got hit pretty good today so you must be getting it on the other side of the hills. Anxiously awaiting the good news.

Hmmm.... I wonder if Curtis is out there with his yardstick?

The forecast looks promising!!! :)

i guess you guys didnt see the photos of the guys riding yesterday in allan creek with snow up to there nuutss

There was fellows up allan, check the other site for pics. Not sure the trail would be to fun, but was good snow.

We went for a road ride. Found up to 70cm up top of some cuts, but melted fast. We need to see more precip.

Just up the North Thompson, but the plow was being delivered late in the day, so I think they are going to be plowing the road....

we still need some more snow up top to fill in the big humps and crevices, can be a bit dangerous and hard to tell where they are in the flat light days, trust me i know i was just there lol.I would wait like i am for a few weeks till everything blows in then it will be perfect. just my opinion, it costs a lot to go ridin for a weekend this is why i am sharing my findings with you guys.

The weather here is very warm and it has brought lots of rain. The rain seems to have pushed the snow level up the mountain a bit:confused:

Hopefully I can get a better report tomorrow

Need rubber A-arms for early season riding... :D

Rain down low but likely snow-o-plenty higher up :)

A few of us went up allan today

Left a very dry valemount

Back lot had snow cover but minimal, the trail was actually quite good but thin for the first 3.5km then you must ride 1km of mixed rock, gravel snow up the first switches. After this the trail has approx 15cm fresh snow on top of a thin but good base

Snowing hard ! Max snow depth was 70-100cm. We made it to the top hillclimb, but the weather was so bad we could not go further. Lots of drifts and gullies open still, but a decent cover.

It was snowing when we left and needs it. There is decent cover on the lower trail, but expect to ride the rocky section to get to the top as the tree cover does not allow quick snow buildup on this section.

All in all a good ride until we blew a chaincase at the end of the day

Had buddies drive from Kamloops last night and said it was a complete whiteout from Blue to Valemount.

Woke up this morning to a white ground and heavy snowfall. Should be helping us out a lot.

NOTE: Please respect the gated trail up Allan Creek. We have had an awesome start to the season with everyone respecting the gated trail and it is developing nicely. At this rate, we should be able to get on grooming right at the beginning of Dec (snow depending of course)

NO FIREWOOD: It seems summer visitors have used up all the firewood. There is no wood at the Allan Cabin. Please come prepared for cold weather. I hope to get up with some help on Saturday and at least get a few rounds to the cabin. If you see us cuttin and dont mind carrying a chunk, please help out.

Snowing hard again in town this moring. This is awsome for early season. We are getting a great base to our trails.

Im down for maintenance and wont be back up until saturday.

Rode allan today and it was awesome. Haven't been out this early for a long time. About 4 - 5 feet in places. Some nuggets showing but otherwise it was excellent. Only took a few pictures. 8 inches in the parking lot.
