2009/10 Snowy Range snow conditions

Keep in mind these are written for the Front Range of Colorado and I personally feel the Snowies are one notch ABOVE these alerts due to our
early snowpack and WINDS!

I'll try to get them posted every Friday or if there is a sudden severe change.

Safe Sledding!:beer;

have you dug any holes to see what the snow looks like?? I know lots of folks dig them with their snowmachines :) - but do they know what to look for ?? You must be one of those snow forecasters??

Snow Pit

We haven't had any reports lately, so now that you mention it, I'll probably dig one tomorrow. Won't be able to report until next week.

Error on the side of caution!

Rode friday 1-29

Rode Friday, snow has settled, still powder in trees, but out in open getting pretty settled, climb almost any thing snow. still had lots of fun, beat setting on the couch, would love to have this in july. Rickm

Another Friday 1/29 report

Ditto to what RickM said. I was a little disapointed that the 3' of powder from last week had set-up already, but a great base with 6-8" of powder on top made for some great tree riding, go anywhere snow.

...and any day in the Snowies with blus skies and NO wind is a good day!

stay home its all settled out. 2 miles of moguls down the hiway, trucks parked for 3 miles down the hill, cops laying for you on the drive in and out, fish and game riding around giving out tickets. Oh i forgot it is still good riding.LOL Good snow in the trees. seriously it will need a snowstorm to freshen things up again.

where are you guys exactly riding and staying 6 of us are thinking to come out there due to lack of snow in the bighorns nice pics looks like fun

We ride out of Green Rock, which is West of Centennial. Like the guy above said this side gets REALLY packed on weekends so your best bet is an early start or come during the week. Several places to stay in the town of Centennial, which is a 10 minute trailer pull up the mountain.

Anyone have any reports on the backside or the Madres. Our group is coming out on tuesday and staying at the place. Trying to decide where to ride. Thanks guys

Mostly trails and trees south of 130 (you can find open meadow though) and mostly hills and wide open to the north. Take your pick!!
