2009/10 Snowy Range snow conditions

Snow was good on the backside today. Some spots had a great base and others Zero base. Creeks still showing in spots and Lakes still slushy. All in all a great day riding. We discovered multiple landmines but no casualties.

Greenrock side has piss poor conditions.

Darnit!!! picture 17 is me... landed way hard and snapped my throttle in half! I couldnt get it to run lol... good thing we had duck tape! ended up climbing over Widow Maker tho!

I left the snowies monday night rode friday through monday it was pretty good riding in the trees and open areas were real wind blown and after we left there were lots of tracks everywhere sunday and monday there were a lot of people out good base for this time of year, i would hope for more snow.

I'm curious what conditions are also, we will be out there staying at mountain meadow cabins riding fri-mon, anyone else staying up there?

3 of us stayin at Winter Creek at the bottom of the hill - ridin sun thru wed. Mountain View website shows avy danger as high - Be careful!!

Rode out of Greenrock yesterday. Trail is still thin on top but passable. Snowing some, but the wind was creating LOTS of whiteout conditions and temps well below zero. Some nice powder in certain areas while others were swept bare. Landmines are still an issue, but not too bad if you pay attention. Creeks are NOT frozen and snow-bridged; one guy went in up to his crotch, while still standing on his sled. Avy danger HIGH and looks to be getting HIGHER with the cold snow and wind. Road and parking are good on 130 up to the cattle guard, but the rest up to SML is basically down to single track towards the bottom and was starting to drift-in by mid-day. Play safe!:beer;

Rode yesterday, over 2' of new and was still snowing good when leaving at 3. Never even rode on the back side, they probably got way more. Was on the windy side, but awesome in the trees. Sorry no pics, didn't want to waste time. Easily best conditions after Christmas in 5 years. Almost forgot, stock XP over the top of Widowmaker day before.

Sweet.

Rode today Thursday the 31st. Rode up through north and dropped into jeff lake drainage. Snow was 2 feet plus all day, dropping into creek you would nearly get stuck going down hill. Should be a great day again tommorow. couple pics. Rode with Beeman, Beergut, and some peeps from Colorado.
