2009/10 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

She's thin, real thin, we got in a good day and found some pow in the coulee's but you really have to know your way around to find decent snow. Worst I have seen it for a long time.

Looks like baldy could get around 10 inches or so by Wednesday. We are headed up to bear to get some more break in miles on the M8. I'll take a few pics as always.

I went by Dearhaven today.:(

Thanks for the up dates guys. Looks like we will be going to the snowies this weekend I guess. Will keep my sno dance going for ya though.

Well it didn't snow up on the mountain today as they said it would. Hopefully the snow is still coming.

We did find a few pockets to play in and got some miles on wyrider's m8 (the reason for the trip.) Gunna through some more miles on tomorrow, baldy says it could get 7 inches tonight. When we left baldy the clouds were coming in so maybe.

The warming hut is Dayton Gulch

For a 9 hour drive I would not do it thats for shure, the snow is not even worth the 45 min drive I have

Saw that Bear Lodge had gotten new snow overnight, curious if anyone was up there to witness the amounts or how the riding is in other places?

snow was good today, over the hood in alot of places. No base though so u feel everything. Bent lower a arm. So its still hit and miss. Ran around granite pass, seemed that the further south we went the less snow we found. trees and drainages were fun all day though waist deep powder. Sorry no pics didnt think it would be very good so i left camera at home.

Was some deep snow but no base and now the bigger rocks are just below the surface, just ask brodie or his brother, hope your feeling better brodie. good snow to play just have to pray you dont find a rock or log hiding below the snow.

Snow conditions?

Anyone been up this week? Thinking about a quick hop out for a test run at elevation. The 10 hr drive out isn't so bad, it's the drive back that sucks!

I don't think the snow is good enough to come 10, but if you really want to ride..be careful..They don't have a ton of snow!!

Snow is getting better. If you're careful you can get off the trails now. Makes your butt pucker but at least you can go to some other places. Much better than a couple weeks ago. Sorry to hear about some busted up a-arms.

Wait for more snow, it's terrible. We were riding on rocks and grass most of the day!

The government is using the "HARPS" to steer the jet stream, they are forcing the winter weather more towards the eastern part of the US.

Pls some updates for riding in the Horns

Hey all fellow pow busters....Some of us are planning a trip to the horns next week what is the snow really like out there now,.. Can we find some pow to bust or is the trip a bust.. Just need some serious info on this place.. Web site says 6 plus, but is it a little better? Is there somewhat of a base now? Have they gotten any new snow recently? Any help from my fellow pow busters would be so much apprecieated greatly. Thanks:beer;

The Horns (especially in early season) are all about knowing where to go to find snow. We found lot's of pow to ride yesterday, sure there are barren places, but there are so many spots to find good snow. We took a little video but no pictures.
