2009/10 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

For the middle of November this is impressive....sad to say I didn't think there was enough to make the 45 minute trip up the mountain this weekend!!!

Root around on here a little. http://wyotrails.state.wy.us/snow/index.asp You can view, order or print maps (if you need them before you go) and you can also order permits on-line if you don't want to wait till you're there.

Raffle at bear??

Anyone headed up for the raffle at bearlodge saterday night?? Had a great time the past few years. This is what we woke up to last year, we can only hope it will happen again!!

Just got back from our last elk hunt. Its not looking to bad between hunt mountain and fortunatus. we had to use sleds to get around but then again we had to use sleds Oct 15th too. First pic was taken just below hunt mountain on the west side, its a low spot. The other is on the hunt mountain road off of 14A. I think 14A closes today though.

Looking about typical for this time of year, maybe a little behind but almost everywhere is this year. Snotel only showed an inch out of yesterday's storm though...that blows.

Rode Saturday from Lovell. Would not recommend it. We found a little snow in the trees, but lots of rocks.

Just talk to the bear lodge and she said a foot of new snow and not to sure b/c the snotel doesnt show any new but she said there was 6 inch by noon and probably 12 inch by now. suppose to snow all night. Anybody going up to ride tomorrow (monday)?

What is North Big Horns snow condition like. Want to go up and do a test run this weekend. Normally unload at Granite Pass. Any body know what it looks like there?

I always go by snotel. The lodges seem to talk up snow fall to get people on the mtn..

Need advice !2/09/09

I have the last week of December off. Where is the best odds for hitting good snow then? I am out of Northern Minnesota. Would prefer Bighorns, Island Park,West Yellowstone areas. Maybe Northern Idaho, Northern Montana??????
How about Snowy Range?
