2009/10 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

Anybody have pics today?

I can't get up there today, but I know Bear Lodge got about 2 feet last night. Somebody needs to post some pics so I know what I'm missing! Won't be many of these days left this year.

was there today the best snow i have ridin in the big horns in the ten years i been going 2feet of powder actual powder WOW bet it will last a few days not suppose to warm up to much stay on the throttle or the snow comes right over the hood everywhere you ride

You know why it snowed? Cause my sled blew up last week and I have no days off....

Ahh...Way to take one for the team! We went up today and it was good snow. Every bit of the 24 inches new that they were talking about...

one of those days

aside from my sweet parking lot wipe out it was a great day. in my defense, i was tired and it caused the wipe out.

Still finding some snow to get stuck in. Looks like up top got about 6 inches or so. Snowed on us most of the day with 0 visibility. It was warm on monday, the forecast predicted it was gunna be in the low 40's today but I don't think it got above 20 up high.

Snow

That M8 looks just like mine, stuck in deep snow. With it being our first time out there was not sure where to go. But we found some deep snow. One morning got stuck twice with in 10 minutes. Where were those spots at?

Yeah, we found some good spots to get stuck, didn't use that much fuel today as we did a lot of digging instead of riding.

First picture was on bald mt, I missed a corner going up and ended up in a big hole. The others are from the dayton gultch area, there were a few more stucks we didn't get pictures of. Just sticky snow today, didn't take much for it to drag a ski under. Still had fun, will see how sore we are tomorrow, lol.

Rode today, snow was concrete at 9 AM but softened up as the day went on. Was really nice and soft by 3 PM. Still plenty of snow to be found, it's better than not riding at all.

When you break through the crust, the snow is nice and soft. Had many cases today where we'd break through and hit a soft spot unexpectantly and instantly be stuck.

I just got back as well. We stayed at Bear Lodge. We experienced the same conditions as shortstop said above. Spring snow, like he said, better than not riding at all.

Saw your group there Matt (not hard since I think we were about the only other people there, lol) kept telling Brant we should go over and say hi but it didn't work out. You guys were eating so I didn't want to disturb you. Then saw a few of your group coming through by the pool but since a conversation in a swimsuit is always rather odd I thought I would catch you later.

Close to a foot of new last night and possibility of another 8-10 inches today/tonight...can't wait to get up there!

Snowing here in Gillette with a balmy 32 degrees right now. Be careful the roads will be pretty interesting tonight if it doesn't clear up.

May 1st Snow

Went up today.. Some of the best riding I have had in May! Not a track anywhere and awesome snow! Was going to put sled away, but might have to take a day off with snow this good!:face-icon-small-hap

Today was some of the best ridind ever on the bighorns snow was deep 24-30 inches. Hard to climb any hills the snow did start to set up as the day went on and got sticky. Never rode in snow like this this late in year.

Looks like the forecast is favorable all the way into next weekend. Just might have to dig 'em out.
