1200 Ski-Doo MCX Turbo

Yamaha patented the rear exit exhaust. Doo didn't really have much choice but to put it out front. Makes for an easier turbo install, though. The weight in front shouldn't really be any more noticeable than a front mount Apex. Should be on the snow soon enough, looking forward to the reports.

I don't know if I would chance 15 on my Nytro on pump gas, I ran Av when I turned it up, cheap insurance. The box also needs to be mapped to run 15, if it's only mapped to 12.

I'd bet there's more than 12lbs mapping in there.

I had an early MCX Nytro kit last year, they told us it was only mapped to 14lbs, and I can tell ya first hand it was mapped the 18.5 lbs. I ran 18lbs for over 900 km's last year.

Theres at least 14 to 15 lbs mapped in there.

Dont fear the Doo, competition is a great thing. Maybe we will get a light Yami 4 banger next year. Woohoo

First ride on this 1200 S/B on Dec 12-14...Should have some more updated pic's on the intake next week though.

Hey Sheriff Are things shapin-up? show us pics :beer;

I spent a couple hours there yesterday & no updated pic's because still some R&D on the air breather being done...Stripped down another 1200 yesterday & started on the rebuild. Engine going to builder today for some breathing enhancement;) & Head Shim, Tunnel & Bulkhead switchout this week & then just waiting on the New Turbo's (MCX). This one belongs to JJ from Pincher Creek. Should be on the snow in January or sooner if the Kits show up early:D:D

Can you weigh the thing full of gas for us? How much lighter then the nytro's? if any?

I gave it the "Royal Treatment" ! Jason will never know what that "Custom White Strip" on the seat was made of.;)
 
Still no concern over the cast pistons?

No not really. Eventually we will need some Low Comp Pistons & Con Rods when the search for more HP begins. Maybe next year or maybe on my sled.;)
Some R&D is needed first. Remember the sceptics when Yamaha first had their 4 stroke? Especially when guys were talking Boost...I believe that it is the same engine as the W Crafts??? I will check on that.
