09 D8 or Not???

I'm new to the Polaris world. I have my first one this year, and it's a '09 D8. I'm coming off an M7. I love how it handles, it had the update done before I rode it, and I did a lot of basic mods to it before I ever rode it. (search for 09 d8 mods with reasons and pics)

Mine has had a bit of what appears to be a flooding issue if I shut it down, and go for an instant re-start. From what I've read, it appears the new ECU flash is on the rich side, so that makes sense.

I have to get a sled for my wife now, and I think it's gonna be a 700. I love the chassis, and I'm happy with motor, but for my wife, she's much lighter than I, and so the 700 will likely be plenty for her, and from what others have said, it's even easier to ride than the D8.

I'm going to also recommend the 700 for you. It will be a nice improvement over what you are riding now. I've owned the '07 d7 155, the '08 d8 163 and now the '09 700 155. Yep, there is an improvement in power from the 700 to the 800, but it is not as significant as it was with the old big blocks. The 800 climbs a bit higher, but not by much.
Every single time I rode my 800 it did the midrange stumbly thing until I was up high pinning it. I was paranoid to take it anywhere. Then it blew up. Personally I don't think the 800 problems have been blown out of proportion as there have been quite a few in my area that went down. That could be the elevation we ride at or krappy dealer setup, but it did happen a lot here.
I really like my new 700 and have a huge smile on my face every time I ride it and I don't worry about it stranding me. Lack of 10 or so real world h.p. is a good trade off for peace of mind

Well....I did it...I got a 09 Dragon 800 155 today. Made a good trade with my 600. Getting a PCV ordered today and will enjoy. I think I will be happy with this seld. Definetly can tell the power differance over my 600. Thanks for everyones opionions!!!

Question though...I do have a set of Vforce reeds for the sled...should I go ahead and put them in??
