08 XP 163...best mountain sled EVER built bar none!!!

I wish i could see one run . I wish i could find someone who would pay for one. On a side note , i started riding the M for the first time . I have been on the older Cats all along .

I got a chance to run a tank of gas through an 08 M8 Demo sled . The sled has a SLP single , SnoPro air box , BD box , and clutching . I cant belive i waited this long to step up to the M .

I cant ride the old stuff any more . I am 6 1 and 210 , and this little 800 153 packed me around really well . I was riding with a few Kings and M 7's , and just one of the kings was picking on me .

The EFI King in our group was trying to follow me , as i zig zaged though the tree's on the climbs . I can put the M any where i want it any time , i had to get used riding it .

Needless to say i am going to spend a pile of cash on a new sled . I have never had so much fun riding in really deep powder . I hope i get a chance to see an XP run . They better run really well if they are going to mark my new M .

Oh and by the way we ride around IP if there any Big Bad Doo sleds, that would like to try to follow the Cats through the tree's . If you think you can follow the stock 153 M7 , you got an invite .:D

better get your excuse list ready

Sandman-
That don't look like an XP.
You had all those problems with your XP?
How many miles you got on it?
Sounds more like a cat 2 me.
Especially if your front end is diving.
Nothing with this powwer .
floats like this sled.
500 + miles- 1 handwarmer down, 1 belt at 350 miles
after towing in an Arctic Puss, and more fun than
I thought possible.
Sure wish you had one too!

I just rode an XP 154 on Sunday. It had zero miles and I put roughly 50 on it in deep snow. It climbed better than any stock sled I have ever ridden, the hand warmer update had already been done so no issues. The dealer had already had a good clutch setup so after 50 miles of thrashing the sled the belt had zero wear and the clutches weren't that hot after a hard pull. The trip meter thing was annoying, I hate doing math on my days off! The dealer double checked the drive shaft after I emailed him the pics that some dude posted last week. Everything was fine. The air intake kept clogging but the dealer is gonna remedy that situation with their own fabrication. I have never ridden a sled that seemed to hook up in the deep snow no matter how steep the hill. I didn't boondock that much but I only boondock when I have to (to get to hidden climbs and such) I only rode the sled 50 miles but I was thoroughly impressed. I will continue to keep an eye on things as time and the rides go by.

Just wait till it goes over ten hours- then the whoop-*** fun really begins!:face-icon-small-hap

haha that is funny.... ummmmm yea if u can follow the m7 thru the trees I would like to see it...
Gimme a break....are some of you guys really this dim?

Does anyone honestly believe that between 2 good running, comparable sleds "in the f'ing trees" that it's going to come down to the manufacturer of the damn sled??

I prescribe more riding time and less keyboard time....

the xp run out of the box and they do it well there is 2 in our party 154
we have had some problens one fell flat on it face . with a little trouble shooting we were back up an running . bad conection on the stater .

Mine runs good, if you want to hook up for a ride. We'll be up there next weekend for a few days. We can try and follow you through the trees and see if we can keep up. pm me if you want to ride either Saturday or Sunday.

No **** virsion XP's do hang or even beat 1000 but 97% dont and its all about clutching and goodies hard facts pick your ride and have fun

PS The heaver you are lean towards the Cat lighter have agreat time on a XP

I have only seen one xp 163 that really got after it and riped, I would have to beg to differ that an xp could bet a M 1000 with a y pipe and can because we put a stock M 8 153 2008, against the xp up a hill and I have to say honestlly boy's xp is not all what you say it is. Dont get me wrong it's a nice sled but power wise the M8 is right there, the 1000 has so much more power, there is not a stock sled that has as much pulling power as it.

No b.s. just facts.;)

I own a 163 XP and have 650 miles

White letter belt came apart about 150 miles.

Hand warmers work

Clutching abit off Clicker 4 will overrev over 40 mph. Best spot until I get it tuned up.

All the other problems I have not experienced.

This sled out climbed every stock sled in our group. I even let my poo buddy try it a couple times. He was impressed

The turbo 700 and 800 dragon along with the yammys out climbed but stock for stock it was the best.

Best bike we have owned so far

My 16 year old daughter will be riding it today she likes it better than her 600 poo. More stable easier for her to ride

Anyway my two cents worth

I like powderhogs idea but it has to be done right. I know everybody rides with different types of sleds. Lets gather up a stock cat 1000, xp, d8 and a cat m8. Find a hill and video them in action and post them on you tube are here. If we can find any one of these and put them up against each other would be cool. This is what I would like to see instead of people claiming the XP is the mightiest even best ever and kick a M1000 a** all over the place.

Rode my new xp for the first time on Monday and it blew me away. I have been on a lot of sleds and this tops the list. I rode the M1000 the same day and i was very impressed with that as well but over all i really loved the Doo. It is the best overall sled i have ever been on.

Are we really comparing stock sleds?????? Who in their right mind rides a stock sled????????

Am I the only guy in the world who understands that there is no such thing as the best sled ever? It's all a matter of opinion. I think Wrangers are the best fitting pants, but I have several buddies who prefer other brands. It's no different with sleds. Please stop with the best. The XP may be the best sled for you, and a pile of dung to another. Neither of you are right or wrong, it's just a matter of opinion. I owned an XP for 6 rides and sold it. It was not for me, but I still think it is a great sled. I perfer to ride the Dragon, it feels better to me and I ride it better, who cares why? Actually, I perfer the Dragon over the XP, but the dragon is not getting any snow time either, because I own a T-Apex, and I perfer to ride it over either of the other two. I did have a guy teach me how to boondock on his XP last Saturday. He bet me $100.00 bucks I could not keep up with him. Can he ride as good as you? I don't know, but he rode go enough to make the point if his sled was capable of helping him. After about 10 minutes it got so steep and deep he was stuck. I passed him at about 1/4 throttle disappeared in the trees for a minute and came back down to help him. He had the $100.00 in his hand and could only say ( that's all the XP's got ) I helped him get turned around and let him keep his $100.00 bucks. Never saw him again that day until we were coming out and he was getting towed by his buddies M8 because his drive shaft was broke. Does this make the T-Apex or the M8 the best sled ever?

Ya know what the best part about this whole thread is? ya got to go riding and you enjoyed yourself. Something your childrens children probably wont ever get to experience no matter what they ride.

forget childrens children, something our children probably wont get to do...

LMAO at the xp haters! ride what you got... unless its an ultra or powder special, then you should upgrade...

LMAO at this nonsense thread, it should be titled: my **** is bigger than your ****

Ya know, I have been having some fun poking fun at the XP riders.
Man are you guys defensive.
But holycow, this stuff is getting rediculous.

I totally agree with phatty on this one.

Seems to me that the majority of people whining about the XP don't even own one.

I had the oppurtunity to ride a XP and it flat out hauls...no other stock machine that will keep up with it..!!

Anyone else stop reading after this from tears coming out of their eyes due to the laughter?

Good one, I needed something like this today.

:D Yea I know but it was the only comparison I had, it will get tougher to find a stock Dragon to run a stock XP, no one will leave either stock.

IMO its 94.6% rider MOST of the time!

Stock Dragon ,Stock XP ? doubt it, 1000 Cat Y and can Dragon loses aways, Cat and XP
swap days, like to think more Cat its mine LOL we both have more miles than Dragon 250
Cat 600 Xp 580 guy with Dragon good Polaris runner no dought he will get it going . Oh and thats not every XP most are not a problem

Great title for a thread!
Makes their blood boil if they
don't have one.
Awesome sled so far- only
500 miles- times will tell-
real good times! Glad the
fearful folks round here didn't
scare me away from it.
