08 XP 163...best mountain sled EVER built bar none!!!

Wow

i thought this thread was gonna be a funny, but i guess he was serious:) best sled for breaking down, blowing motors, nose diving, blowing belts, losing electrical, drive shafts breaking, overheating, oil leaking, hand warmers not working, did i forget anything else this sled is the best at???

And it's still better than the Dragon... What a sled.:)

lets all just keep in mind that when riders start talking about sleds, the bull sh!& starts flowing. Snowmobilers tend to be the most aggresive competetive liars on the planet. Stock is a term with alot of grey area around it when we all talk brands and models. Not calling anyone a liar, just found from experience not many tell the truth.

Holy carp! It'll beat a M1000?
Give me some of what yer smokin'
Rode a XP 154, broke in already, no belt issues in 300 mi anyway.
Other than the steering was REALLY heavy on the trail, something I"d attribute to susp setup, the sled rode great. Different riding position than I'm used to but comfortable.
Beat a M1000????????????? Not on it's best day.

Of course it can beat an M1000. My stock 07 800X marked a piped M1K with a bunch of lightweight crap and the whole deal. Doesn't mean his was running good....just that it happened. Even in stock form these new sleds are pretty strung out pieces of equipment. As a result, the variance between one that's running and one that's running good can be huge.

That last 2 stock M1000 162's I rode in the deep were pulling no more than 40mph trackspeed off the showroom floor....that ain't that hard to beat.

lmao to an xp beating a 1000... that just made my day!

since you are using another 4m member to make this crap up why hasnt he put his .02 on this thread???

I just rode an XP 154 on Sunday. It had zero miles and I put roughly 50 on it in deep snow. It climbed better than any stock sled I have ever ridden, the hand warmer update had already been done so no issues. The dealer had already had a good clutch setup so after 50 miles of thrashing the sled the belt had zero wear and the clutches weren't that hot after a hard pull. The trip meter thing was annoying, I hate doing math on my days off! The dealer double checked the drive shaft after I emailed him the pics that some dude posted last week. Everything was fine. The air intake kept clogging but the dealer is gonna remedy that situation with their own fabrication. I have never ridden a sled that seemed to hook up in the deep snow no matter how steep the hill. I didn't boondock that much but I only boondock when I have to (to get to hidden climbs and such) I only rode the sled 50 miles but I was thoroughly impressed. I will continue to keep an eye on things as time and the rides go by.

Nose diving?? Obviously have never been on a XP or you don't have any clue how to ride. The XP jumps up in the deep powder and floats very easily.

Best sled ever?...that would be a hard statement to quantify; but I can tell you I wouldn't trade mine for any sled on the market right now.

Snowmanx,
Way to off!! Maybe you should buy 2 or 3 of these things! Wow.
I'm thinking that your comment that the XP will beat the 1000cc's must be from your experance riding the Ski Doo 1000's. But if you ment the AC M1000I think the only way an out of the box XP could beat the M1 would be if the XP grew arms and beat the M1000 with a stick..
It is clear that you have never lined the sleds up and run them against each other. Some of us have, and we know better.
However, the XP is a very nice sled. I have ridin them. They are fun sleds to ride.

ive seen um lined up also, it wasnt even close the xp beat the m 1000 by 2 sled lenghts, 2 out of three it would have been 3 out of 3 if the xp didnt miss his hookup, in fairness to the cat the race was only about 450 feet up hill, but the xp made the m 1000 look like a 600

no way would i trade a little problem child xp and 5000 cash for my m1000.just not enough power for experianced riders:)jmo.

well, it seems best as pissing off jealous cat and polaris owners mostly...

Ya know what the best part about this whole thread is? ya got to go riding and you enjoyed yourself. Something your childrens children probably wont ever get to experience no matter what they ride.

got one myself love the heck out of it!!!!! it's a badazz sled that's for sure. it will outclimb any stock sled i have seen!!! i have three other buddies that have them also no problems with them either. everyones just talking smack cuz theyre SCERED!! haha

First time posting a video lets see if this works....

Rode with a good running XP800, no complaints. The three sleds from left to right in this video are M1000 (Pipe, Clutching, Can, 163), 600RMK (797 Kit, 155"), 07 Rev (159", Pipe and Can).

The M1000 and the RMK are close, I did not get it on video but the XP and the RMK raced later and it was not even close, no way the XP beats the M1000. Great sled but come on now:beer;:beer;:beer;

I wish i could see one run . I wish i could find someone who would pay for one. On a side note , i started riding the M for the first time . I have been on the older Cats all along .

I got a chance to run a tank of gas through an 08 M8 Demo sled . The sled has a SLP single , SnoPro air box , BD box , and clutching . I cant belive i waited this long to step up to the M .

I cant ride the old stuff any more . I am 6 1 and 210 , and this little 800 153 packed me around really well . I was riding with a few Kings and M 7's , and just one of the kings was picking on me .

The EFI King in our group was trying to follow me , as i zig zaged though the tree's on the climbs . I can put the M any where i want it any time , i had to get used riding it .

Needless to say i am going to spend a pile of cash on a new sled . I have never had so much fun riding in really deep powder . I hope i get a chance to see an XP run . They better run really well if they are going to mark my new M .

Oh and by the way we ride around IP if there any Big Bad Doo sleds, that would like to try to follow the Cats through the tree's . If you think you can follow the stock 153 M7 , you got an invite .:D
