looking to get some Aarms for my PRO. Is there any differences between the 2? Holz claims they are 3 lbs lighter then stockers

i'm not sure what holz adds to clearance but ZBroz has higher clearance which will help some of the rock and stump bumps, i've heard the ZBroz are pretty tough compared to others, but lightening up the front will only help the balance even more.

So far I"m very happy with the Holz front suspension kit for the PRO. Had a night time creek crossing go very bad and hit the opposite bank hard enough at a side angle that it threw me completely across the way. In my mind I thought that just did in the right side. Daylight showed it didn't!

Take care in elevating your front on this setup. It changes everything about the geometry of your rear suspension and how it works. We found you have about 2" max a variance before you really mess up how things react.

you will get the same answers as those talking about....Race Fuel or AVGAS...lol..

F-Bomb knows his stuff, he puts more miles and testing on sleds in 1 year then most would in 5yrs...so he has valuable inputs...

but from "MY" personal point of view...

i have 2 RMK 900s both have ZBROZ A-arms...and the wife has Holz a-arms...they are both made from chromoly and extremely light and of coarse stronger then stock, however the ZBROZ are thicker in girth, offer a higher ground clearence and IMO are stronger then Holz...

i sold her Holz ones last week to get another set of Zbroz

The Zbroz are a heavier duty set. I have them and anyone who rides with me will tell you..I'm hard on them. Trees, rocks, whatever might be in the way. I think they drop more than 3 lbs for the set though, hell, one lower 1 arm was at least 2 pounds lighter than a stock lower arm..

do zbroz actually increase the heighth of the sled or does the clearance gain come from angling to arms down toward the spindle at the end of the arms to gain a-arm clearnce rather than raise the height of the sled.

You are 100% correct they do not raise the front end. The arms just sit higher off the ground than stock.

The Z-broz arms do not raise the front end of the sled at all, they simply offer more ground clearance. They are also 3 lbs heavier than the stock A-arm setup, but they are that much stronger. Considering how many have already bent/broke A-arms I'm thinking that wasn't a good place to shed a few pounds.

I Just realized that the Holz Aarms are 41inchs where as the Zbros come in 40-48inchs. Considering I dont want to go wider then I will have to go Zbros

I had Holz on my D8 and they were great. They held up well and took a lot of hits that the stockers seem to bend to quickly for. Problem is they are only avail in 41" as barry1me said. If I buy aftermarket, I'm going to try out the Zbroz this time around. I think you are good with either brand though.

Does Zbroz arms have the tie in for the sway bar? I can't tell from their pic...

You can see HRP's sway bar link in this pic.

great point about the sway bar. Im not seeing it. Zbroz is giving me a call back later this afternoon.

Also:

Zbroz Lifetime warranty on Aarms
Holz 2 yr warranty

Zbroz Aarms are 2lbs heavier then stock Aarms, Holz are 3lbs lighter then Stock Aarms.

Holz includes Chromoly Tie rod ends
Zbroz (40) do not include Tie rods

Zbros come in black but can be PC'd another color for $50 upcharge
Holz can be black or red at no extra charge

Do Z-Broz even need the new tie rods since the arms are the same length as stock?? I thought HRP's were included since they were 41".

I've bent plenty of Holz on the last sled. I get the "a-arms are cheaper than bulkhead" argument, but every Holz lower I've bent I've scratched my head wondering "what the f#@k did I hit!?" I'm tired of buying replacements! I think I'll try the Z-Broz this go around and see for myself (plus I'm still angry about my HRP 90 some odd $ clutch side vents).

That is correct you reuse stock Tie rods.

i dont know 100% sure of the clamp on sway bar bracket comes in the a-arm kit or not...

the first set of 40" zbroz arms i bought for my 05 rmk 900 di dnot come with it, i called Nate Zollinger and he sent me one for $40.

I just bought a set of 43" zbroz arms for my other sled 2 weeks ago that were sitting at a dealership i stopped in and they included the clamp on bracket...so not sure if they are including them in the set or not...but they are worth having IMO.

and your correct on the tie-rods...you will use stock tie rods on the 40" arms, but they will include them if you go wider of coarse...if you are looking to replace crappy stock tie rods...send a PM to WIMPY on the forum, i bought some aluminum rods from him last season for the 40" arms for $50 i think? but they are far superior to stockers...

on the Holz 41" arms...IF you have the newer style adjustable spindles. you can offset the spindle bushings to the inside to get a narrower stance...

i also believe the NEWER style Holz spindles are by far the BEST combo to use on the zbroz arms...they have a cut on the inside that allows fo tighter turning then the older version spindles....and the ZBROZ arms are pretty beefy at the end near the spindler..so the more clearence the better...

here is the ZBROZ 09-up sway bar bracket installed (can go on front or back of arm) works great!!

I don't know where you guys are getting your weights from just measured them and:

Stock: 11.43 w/ ball joints
ZBROZ: 9.33 w/ ball joints

Mine just came in today and they have a cross piece welded in for the 09-11 sway bar style.

so is that per side? Thats interesting cuz Nate told me that the Zbroz are 1lb heavier then the stock 2011 RMK arms. Do you have pics of the sway bar piece welded in?

We made a first ascent into a horrible boulder and deadfall laden pit in McCall Idaho this weekend. No less then 8 times I thought my arms were DONE. You couldn't sidehill without banging your downhill ski. I hit a layed down log and it stopped the sled dead and sent me 15 feet over the bars. The HOLZ arms are still perfect! I've saved a ton of money so far on this setup. (the PRO is flat awesome too:face-icon-small-hap)

What are the handling differences between the two? Is the inch your gaining with holz actually that noticeable?
