Alpha track on Matryx

I ran the Alpha 146" track on my 9r last season. The grip in these tracks are very good in firmer snow compared to its opponments.
I like the track for my riding style and typical snowconditions we get.
BUT, theres a significant weight difference. The 146" alpah track is actually 5kg heavier then the Serie 6 146". That is whopping 25% heavier then the serie 6 track.
Polaris put alot of effort creating a ligjtweight sled, also with focus on rotational weight.

I will do some back and forth swapping around these 2 tracks this season to see if I can make up my mind.
Just to be clear on these tracks the 2.6 Alpha track above is 5kg heavier than the 3 inch Alpha track. The 2.6 is a 2.86 pitch also where the 3 inch is a 3.5 pitch.

Which shop did it for you?
The owner of Mountain Magic in Edmonton “retired”, meaning that he now works out of his shop at home. He did it for me. If you want one done, I can ask if he’ll do more. It’s not cheap, though. Pretty well the same price as a new track.

More so looking for advice or a how to. I have a spare alpha track that won't work on an Alpha due to broken rods but I think would work on my twin rail turbo Doo as a spare time project.

Measure the width of the drivers, mark it out on the track and cut some holes. Sounds like your track is already damaged so it’s not like you’re going to screw up a brand new track.

I found what I needed on tracks USA. They have clips specific to the 3.5 pitch camoplast tracks. I’ll report back what I think of the alpha power claw after I get it installed on my matryx 850 na.
