Z Broz +3 forward A arms

I got my +3 kit the other day.. Looks like another great product by Z-Bros and good spindles too boot!! Ordered it on Monday was here Wedsday thanks for the quick shipment boys!!

Install one side and take some pics for us to compare to the stock side. Interested in this kit as well.

the spindles you have from the first z-broz kit will work with the new kit. the spindles are the same design from previous years, only the arms have changed, hope this helps.

I am interested in both these front ends as well as everyone on this thread. I think the skins is high in price and have also heard that they have a hard time keeping up with customer demand. So if you wackf*** one side and they are two months out for replacement I believe the 1inch of difference would not make a lot of difference to me. I think z-bros is the way to go I just for shipment purposes. I am curious if it will make that much differance in the handling. For some reason I still want the skins???

Valid point, been waiting for a set of air frames for about 1.5 months now but luckily there's no snow on the ground. I've been looking at the geometry in depth of the skinz and zbroz kit and I STILL want the skinz kit too!

maybe zbroz could sell skins the spindles, and then skins could sell their kit as complete... lol

That is a very valid point about availability of getting parts. Especially a-arms

Im torn also....the zbros attach there spindles alot diff than the OEM yammie spindle so thats out.

Both kits are about the same money so ya skinz is making some serious margin for sure!!

I think the Z-Bros is a cut above ! Just look at the design and the way they are built. Plus the Z-Bros spindle is better in my opinion than the stock piece.

They are the same money and you get spindles and arms that are a thing of beauty. The other thing is the shocks. Not everyone can/wants to run out and buy spherical bearing shocks, they may want to use stock shocks which the Zbros allow you to do.

That makes the Skinz a $2000 dollar investment for a front end. 2 grand for some chromoly tubing that probably makes no difference to the average rider in the average conditions they usually ride in. Seems like a simple decision to me !

Can i use my stock xtx gytr shocks on Zbros?

yes stock shocks can be used on the z-broz kit. they provide a spacer and longer, stronger grade of bolt to allow you to bolt your shock in front of the stock upper mount, so that the shock is centered in the arm and not at a harsh angle which would induce binding. if you have aftermarket shocks with spherical bearings, then the stock upper mount is used. also the kit comes with super duty ball joints and bushings which eliminate all the problems with the OEM garbage.

That sounds great, i have looked at Skinz but i dont want to spend money in new shocks. This Zbroz looks great and when i can use my stock Xtx shocks then then the answer is easy :)

Ran Zbroz for years on the hill climb circuit and have always been happy, light, reliable and work great. Not to mention customer service is awesome and they really stand behind there stuff.

Zbroz stuff does look really nice. I would agree with that.

I would for one not waste my time with stock shocks on any front end kit. The XTX shocks may not be a bad piece but the older stock MTX shocks leave a lot to be desired. I think it is a waste of time to put a good front end on a sled and leave the junk shocks. You just will not see the benefits of a thousand dollar set of arms.

I have been disappointed many times in my life when I try to upgrade something but only do part of it and find out without the whole package the upgraded item suffers.

Just saying I don't think the shock thing should really be an argument against the skinz kit. I say let's get them on the snow and really see what works.

Can someone post a pic of the top of the shock mounted? I don't care for the idea of installing the shock to the front of the mounting ears but I'd like to see it. Seems like it would put more stress on the shock mount.

Good point, though I think since the change in distance is minimal (only going to other side of bracket, not 7 inches away..

It is a yamaha after all. Kink of like a tank, but heavier...lol

Can you buy the spherical shock mounts and get the shocks machined locally? I would like to do this with my Float 2 and use them mounted to stock location.

Contact OFT - I think they were going to offer that option too.

From the posted pictures it looks like it bolts in the stock location on the top. Does it really bolt on the front side of the upper mount? That would seem really weak because that bracket is not very thick.

In the picture provided he is using Exit shocks which already have the spherical bearings so the mount modification is not necessary.

As for getting the shocks machined locally, that's probably an answer only you will know/be able to find out.

OFT can machine/install the spherical bearing for you and do great work. I believe they were offering discounts on it if you purchased the skinz kit from them but they are also a ZBroz dealer so maybe they will still swing you a deal! :)

I talked to the Z broz guys at the snow show this weekend. What a great bunch of guys! I asked them if there was any rhyme or reason to the +3 vs the +4. They said they did have a few +4 and +3 a arms( as well as a +1) out for testing. And the consensus was that the handling of the sled was identical between the +4 and the +3. The only difference was that the +4 needed a curved steering arm, the +3 could still utilize a straight steering arm. After seeing their product first hand, I'm definitely going with Z broz. I hope someone in WA has the skinz front end this year so we can compare! :face-icon-small-hap id86

Great news! However, I feel it would be EXTREMELY hard to say that the handling of the 3" and 4" were identical. I feel it is impossible to measure by simple "seat of the pants" feel.

But, if the results ARE that similar then the Zbroz will be a "sum all" front end kit where it combines the pros of all the kits out there into one tough/proven kit.

I plan on buying a kit at the intermountain snow show this weekend. Were they offering any promotional prices during the snow show??
