XP owners-Your driveshaft WILL break

I think you'd be asking for trouble just screwing it. It needs to be welded to put up with the tremendous forces on it over time.
Two of our xp's went down today due to driveshaft failure
Yes, it is true!!! Not being pesimistic, just the truth. Two of our 6 xp's went down today while in Franklin Basin.
Is it worth welding a driveshaft that should be a voluntary (and urgent) recall by BRP prior to a recall that is sent out by BRP.. WHat a complete F>>> up by BRP!!! Did they even run this sled a few hundred miles? If they had, I think a lot of these issues would have been identified..

What shame. Honestly, is there any other business that would get away with a catastrophic failure like this and not have their pants sued off of them?

cheap materials
poor materials, missing welds, going light weight at the cost of reliability and no R&D on a "revolutionary" snowmobile.

I'm just waiting for one to let loose about 3/4 of the way up a big hill. No clutch backshifting and no brake
on the way down. Will BRP pay for your sled after it impales a tree at 105 mph I can't believe that the driveshaft issue hasn't scared them enough to do a recall. Someone's gonna get hurt and the Attorney's will start knocking on BRP's door.

There are NO welds, it is pressed together.

And the most amazing part of all of this is that BRP is supposedly saying that if you weld or modify your driveshaft for this issue(breaking) they will not cover it under warranty if it fails..!!

I'd get that in writing, that way you can sue the crap out of them when it fails. That's B.S. if it's true.
Why wait for bombo. Put a 600RS driveshaft in it and ride.

Didn't they move the brake , so you can have brakes if your chain blows (or when) I should say.

is there any warning ?? took mine out today and when i hammer it i hear a snap or a clunk..does it every time i hit the throttle hard , especially in deep snow

I don't have an XP, but I thought I saw the brake down on the Jackshaft. So wouldn't you have brakes? Just wondering .

think its drive train related,,was ably to drive it 4 miles back to the trailer...
