XP Owners - Have Faith!! Long post, but a MUST read!

Ive cut 55 lbs off mine so far if I got rid of the e start I could cut another 21 lbs that would bring me under 385lbs. with a 175 hp Sled Head Racing 860 R Mountain motor.
Slim what does this mean. 3 to 2 BWK & Shaft - 2.0

Dave, its the switch to a 2 wheel rear wheels, from the stock 3, It lost 2.0 lbs., you already have it I believe?

i'm sure i'll read this thread a few more times after posting this, thumbs up

i currentlly have around 250+miles on my 09X 154,
SLP Pipe can Y pipe Combo
20T top gear
Stock clutching (thats definatlly going to change)
Few other misc. Goodies light wieght stuff

I ride at 6000-8000 ft, 2 belts within the first 60miles, just kept running the second one, getting to expensive at 200CAD ea. i'm at clicker 6 just to barely get 8200-8300. the sled barley lifts the skis up off the ground with the limiter strap all the way out, i'm pretty sure that my old well tuned 07 X would walk all over this 09.

i'm going to try pulling some wieght, i dont under stand why i would need to add wait. plus i was thinking of trying my set up that i had in my 07, and go back to the straight 44 helix, my 07 would just about go over backward i miss that, and this 09 just doesn't have that. another thing that i've don't in the past was get the engagement at or close to 5000rpm seemed to help.

Just looking for some opinions, i guess, last weekend i had a 06 X walkin all over my new 09, just didn't impress me a whole, lot. oh ya i noticed a difference at around 130miles on the sled, mid range pull is definatly there

captain extreme...BRP will warranty those belts. Hang on to them and return to your dealer for replacement.

Here's what my belt looked like at 37 miles and I take all the blame! 3-4' of fresh untouched meadows, I'd do it again. Not patient enough when those conditions present it self. If it ever stops snowing here I will break one in properly!:)

Look at this picture or the original one I have found that in deep powder snow comes in on the clutches and hurts my belt. It comes from the running board hole. Put a little plastic cover in there and problem went away.

Captain Extreme Check your rave valve operation , mine did same, hoses were loose leaking fuel and oil around fitting.

BRP now has a replacement for that black plastic piece in the secondary. Belt deflection is two allen screws. Take belt off with the tool same as the old sleds. All 09's should be able to get it for free from dealer. Not sure what the part # is but I can get it if someone needs it.

BRP owners should also know that the TRA with its "stock factory setup" still overheats while riding in deep snow. My sons 09 50th smoked the bushing with only 156 miles caused directly by the heat.

I strongly suggest a proper vent kit that will assit in deflecting the heat that for years has plagued the TRA..... Especially if you ride deep snow !!!!

He now has a vent kit installed

OT

The chip thing is bs from what I have been told by people I trust. What I have heard that may or may not be true is that the timing is retarded until a certain number of miles or hours are met, not sure if this is true or not.

I think seat of the pants once these engines get loosened up they feel like something has burned out or whatever because they do run better. This is just my personal observation.

with my 07 rev, I was on a nice little side hill and it was like 20 hp. kicked in , just wondered looked at my hr. meter it said exactly 10 hrs. My 08 xp I felt nothing.
