xp front end heavy

If you loosten your limeter strap, it will make it easier to turn, but it gets a little scary on the hills, as your front end doesn't like to stay down. I tightened mine back up, and it's a little harder to steer on the trail, but it seems to climb a little better. Espically in the powder, as it doesn't seem to trench as bad.

Keep your sway bar in for the trail ride up there, and then just remove it when you get in the mountains. It's night & day difference with it in on the trail. It only takes 5 seconds with the quick release. JMO!

Who sells the quick disconnect kit? I agree that these things are like a brick trying to countersteer and carve. Has anyone found if a set of powder pros help?

keep only one side hooked up for the trail (like it is now), then un hook it when in the goods, and let the bar with the ears hang free and flop around? Is this what you mean?

I just keep both sides hooked up on the trail ride up, and then when we stop to get a drink, I just pull them off. Put them back on for the ride back down the trail.

With only 1 side hooked up, it's kind of like not having it on at all. You need both sides hooked up to help on the trail. It is alot funner in the trees, and powder without it. IMO!

SkiDoo sells them, but there like $100 for the set. I think I saw someone selling them aftermarket for a little cheaper, but can't remember where.

Learn how to ride your sled. I don't mean to be rude but if you think the XP is hard to ride vs. the old RMK, you need to spend a little more time riding. Try standing straight up, you will find you don't need to cross your leg over unless you are on a steep hill side. On the old RMK you had to lean way forward to get the sled up on its side, because that is where the wait is. If you lean forward on the xp you are pulling the entire sled forward.
Ride it like you are skiing. stand in the middle and let it work around you. I have not touched my limiter strap no need. PLease keep in mind I am a little guy 150lbs and I can get my 163 to do things i couldn't have dreamed about on my RMK 151. I love to carve circles around the dragons

SWEET... i think he should sell it, it is the only thing that would make him happy. The sled is one of the cleanest well put together sleds i have ever seen 12500.00 is not a bad deal for that sled. Maybee then he can sit at the bottom on his dragon and watch some one spank him on his old sled....

She said dragon not old RMK.

I have the same problems with mine. Adjusting the suspension and removing the sway bar helped, but now the sled tries to dive off the trail or into the nearest tree well. The rev's always had this reputation and but I never noticed it. The XP really likes to follow the fall line, and the only way I have found to counteract this is lots of throttle and weight commitment.

you figure? there's lots of people out there with more money than talent (not saying she is one of those). but if a person has a big bore kit, and hasn't figured out how to make an XP dance, chances are good your statement is incorrect. I still have the sway bar hooked up on mine and can do a sh!thook on a dime in the pow. if anything, the front ends are incredibly light....feeling heavy and being heavy are two different animals, proper setup will go a long ways. :beer;

Put you sled back to stock and try riding it differently. I promise by make the adjustment you have done you are not helping anything. If you ride differerntly you will find the sled will work around you. I can do a complete figure 8 with in 15 feet and that is with out crossing my legs over, just standing in the middle of the sled. As for worrying about shooting into trees sorry about that get off the trail it is funner any way.

I was just thrown crap back at Keystone....You are completely correct and some people that ride a stock 800 should really be on a stock 6 or 700...most people think they need an 800 but cant ride with the power they have...I dont think he ever said what dragon he had but the extra power of the 860 is probably more the problem than the XP chassis, at least this is my experience with most people...truth be told. Thanks for the input tho.

if your xp feels to heavy do what i did and trade it for a turbo apex, ride the yamaha 4 times and sell it to buy your xp back then youll stop taking forgranted how light, nimble and easy to ride the xp is

Miss RMK

Maybe Miss RMK is making excuses for his ski pooch because he knows it will never run with a Struthers built Dragon 860 or RMK 910 that he is used to!

back at ya biotch..

"WANNAB" you said it not me.

I have both. An 800 Dragon and an 09 800 Summit 163". The sleds are COMPLETELY different. It takes me a good half a day to reacclimate to the Doo after riding the Polaris. My 02, take it for what it's worth, is it is easier to acclimate to the Polaris than to the Doo. Sort of like the difference between the Nytro and the Apex. Both different all together.

I am not saying the Doo is harder to ride, I love mine and have a KICK on it after I retrain my brain to adjust to it's handling attributes, just takes a liitle longer to get "back" in the groove.

have you tried some different skis? Like Powder pros? or a two wheel kit? A few in our group are used to M-sleds and are going this route after trying an XP with the SLP skis. just a (cheaper) thought for you rather than selling it. Holz has a two wheel kit for $70 i think. Ask Stonehands as well - he rides a 860 XP with the above mentioned mods.

I changed a bunch of things around and it is way better. Maybe not dragon agile but much better. Power is really good. A little finicky with alt. hit rev. limiter down low and not enough rpms at alt. but easy to change with clickers and shockwave. Overall good set up. But would be more comfortable on a new dragon 860. Oh well.
