We have made a nice kit to limit both the engine (stiffer engine stopper pad) and limit the jacksahaft tower flex with a cross brace...kit will take a "little" know how to install but after a month of testing this is the easiest package...BJ

Brace kits in stock!!

New pricing $149 shipped...

picture will be posted below...

200+ sold..no brace kit failures or tower failures

1 has 2600 miles and a 170 hp 860R and its still holding strong!!

SPI is using SHR brace kits on all there grass drag MOD sleds...

So BJ...looks like a thoughtful solution to a problem I and maybe most did not know we have. We know about alignment, secondary clutch spacing, belt width, clutch weights...but this is something new to me for sure. Would you go into some detail at why and what you have done here? Thanks, Goose

Once you have your secondary off your sled and can see the skinny little aluminum bracket that holds the jackshaft bearing you will understand.
Its just about 8" long with I think 3 bolts at its base holding it to the tunnel. The 3 bolts are not triangulated, just hold the end of it to the tunnel. Picture if you took a 2X6 about 2 ft long and screwed one end down to the floor with 3
screws, how easy would it be for you to lever it over. I said 2 ft and not 8" as don't think most guys can come close to applying the amount of torque the 800R will put into trying to pull the primary and secondary together.

When you see it, looks about as dumb as the drive shaft when you pop the the plastic plugs out and see how they didn't weld it!!!

Good Luck

Hey BJ, I've got 500 miles on my '08 860XP and I'm not really impressed at all. I'll have our new dyno hooked up next week to check the HP but no way it's 170HP. Have you run your sled much with your new stiffener? If so, did you see a noticable difference at all? It looks like a good idea.

Thanks,
Jay

The 860 was the reason for the stiffener...call me and I can help...havent had HP problems with the 860R....BJ

Just got done installing the brace kit (15-20min max with basic hand tools) and it should work very well. You can see how easy the support member moves my adjusting the rod on the brake kit. Should hold the secondary in place very nicely. Also installed a new trick billet belt asdjuster in the secondary and threw away the POS stick adjuster. Will post some pics later today or tomorow.

Billet Belt adjuster!!!! Where did you get that?? How much!!! PM me please!

thats cool! but if you use this you don't adjust much!

---------------------------------------------------

please check out my belt tool. If you get your belt height set right and only replace it when it blows or is worn you don't have to adjust it much and with my tool you dan't need to touch this adjuster to replace your belt!

makes changing these belts a piece of cake and hopefully with the new belt we won't have too. (we won't they work great!)
