XP 866 VS. m1000

Try a torsional secondary from either, OVS, RKT, D&D, Cutler....I think just about everyone makes one now. Better acceleration, engine braking, backshift and cooler belts. Alot of people swear by the 44/40 helix as well.
Good Luck.

There are some how have done a lot of clutching and wound up with the compression style working better.

07 m1000 vs XP 860

A stock 07 M1k will get pounded by the XP 800, never mind an 860. However, if you dial in the sled (powerclaw or challenger Extreme), SLP pipeset, intake, clutching, etc, the tables will turn in your favour. My 07 M1K with a Challenger Extreme, a slight diet, and the SLP pkg is night and day over the stocker, and hangs a beating on two XP's - one an 860, the other an 880 - the riders are around the 180 - 200lb mark respectively. I hit the scales @ 237 lbs ready to ride.
But... they are usually less tired at the end of the day from throwing thie sleds around - the M1k beats the s*#t out of me over a long day...

One would be me. I tried the RKT kit and went back and am loving it. The Upshift and back shift are a lot better with my set up. I have one clutch with the team conversion and one with the stock components. it will be interesting to see the difference. JMHO:beer;

hmm

ok not loyal to any brand ride with a lot of xp like 20 to 1 kitty xp never never get close hard or soft and i wiegh 315 most guys wieght half off me :D:D and eat belts like no tomorrow :eek::eek:

I came off a 02 Summit 800 prior to my 09 M1000. The Summit had awesome
engine braking (Cudney Kit) but my 08 M1000 with the RK Tek Secondary, 38/36 helix, snorpo green spring set in the 2nd softest hole has no engine braking. Should I tighten up a couple holes on the secondary to hold more tension on the belt to get it to engine brake??? Also, I have a new Arctic Cat red/white spring to try. I'm still pretty new to clutching!!

Here's what I can tell you. I rode an 09 XP 163 with SLP kit last season and it was a great sled. This season I'm on an M-1000 Limited 162 Speedwerx pipe/can, BDX powervalve delete kit etc. I'm 6' 4" 245 and I like the torque of my cat and I think for a heavier guy the M-1 is the way to go. Now I ride with a buddy that has a 010 XP 163 with the 866 kit dialed in and it rips! He's lighter than me by about thirty pounds and in all honesty he marks me on the hill. I'm still dialing mine in and I'm switching my helix to a progressive 40 with 75 grams of weight amungst some other things, so once I'm dialed should be a coin toss with the weight difference of me being a bigger guy. Hope this helps.............
