xm vs pro

what I want to know is how can all the die hard xp guys even like the xm. The die hard xp riders say if you can't ride a xp you just can't ride. Ski doo made it to handle more like the pro so that goes against everything the xp stands for in my opinion. Just really curious since I hav'nt had a chance to ride a xm yet.

Was the 2010 RMK Dragon a mountain sled?
If so, why did polaris build the pro on a platform so similar to the 04 summit?

I had an 04, 2-05's, 06, and an 07 doo and there is nothing similar to the way they pro rides. Mine was a legitimate question. You are grasping for straws on your comparison. If you love the xp then you don't like the pro. The xm was made to be more like the pro so why would xp riders like it?

Someome is on the yellow coolaid...

Not at all, apparently my lines are to fine to read between.

So, I'll spell it out at Kindy garden level.

The question was "what I want to know is how can all the die hard xp guys even like the xm"

So, the 2011 Pro was nothing like the 2010 Dragon that the die hard polaris guys loved so much.

So how could the die hard dragon guys even like the pro?

I think the bottom line is that we all like advancements in our sleds.
Competition drives this.

Skidoo goes rider forward in '03, it works, others follow.
2011 Polaris sets up a platform similar to the '04 summit that works much better than the summit, HUGE Success.
2013 SkiDoo re-designs suspension, handles more like the Pro, and looks like again...SUCCESS

And as a note, a few mods that the "die hard xp guys" do to their sleds are:
narrow front end, tie rod to spindle mod, rear skid re-locate, scissor relocate, and steering post mod.

How many of these points listed come stock on the xm?

I'm really not biased, I actually think its funny that the underpowered poo with a lot smaller footprint is real competition in the deep and steep.....:yo:

Changing the RMK track to a challenger extreme makes a huge difference in Washington/Oregon snow!

I went from a 98 summit x 670 to an 09 800 163 xp. The xp allowed me to learn to ride, and I loved every second of riding it. My best friend and his nephew each ride poo. Nephew has a '10 dragon 800 155, and the other an '11 pro 163. I have always said that after riding the 3, the best feeling sled was by far the dragon. Then my xp. This year, I got an xm. Nothing like my buddy's pro. But so much better than my old xp. It's just like my xp, but way more nimble. It's sooooo easy to side hill now!!!! Anyway, my personal opinion, the pro was too "tippy" and wouldn't hold a line like I preferred. Still an awesome sled, but I did not like it. Granted, this is an '11 pro vs '13 xm, but I just wanted to share my perspective on the comparison. And also to respond to the xp v xm question.

Interesting comments. We were testing a 2013 162 PRO vs a 2013 163 XM in bottomless powder for 2 days. The PRO wasn't even close in highmarking, and that's running fresh tracks side by side. But I will say this once, being a truly die-hard doo guy, that I would very seriously consider buying a PRO for its light handling. There, I said it. Won't say it again... :face-icon-small-win

This was during the Pro break-in. It has less than 100 miles, therefore only less than 1/2 throttle.

HAHA. Good stuff. It's on the interweb man, it's there forever.

I like my pros. I have big expectations for doo in the near future. The xm's I've ridden are a huge step in the right direction for the riding that I enjoy most, but not on par with the pro. Again, just my opinion on my style of riding from my experience on each sled.
