WTF kind of deal is THIS??

Anyway, I have a few questions for my fellow snowesters:

1) Can they actually take your promotional warranty away??

2) Should I call BRP to complain, or would I be wasting my time??

3) Does the B.B.B. in Washington State have any teeth??

4) Should I post the Dealer's name??

1.) Don't know. But it looks like that's that outcome anyway.

2.) YES!!! Do it in writing. More importantly, your buddy will be recieving a satisfaction survey form from BRP. Blast the dealer there. Low marks on whatever is applicable, (but prop's where they are due.) The dealer is greatly affected by these surveys.

3.) The B.B.B. is a complete waste of time. Since the dealer likely is regulated by Washington State DMV, you will have MUCH better luck with consumer fraud division (or whatever they are called up there), and filing a grievence with them.

4.) Not yet. Give them the opportunity to step up to the plate first.

My 2.

You might want to point out just how much that $350 ($250 gas card, $100 accessories because that's what THEIR cost will be, warranty doesn't cost them a damn thing since the factory covers all the parts and actually pays THEM to fix the stuff) is going to cost them in the long run when you go elsewhere for all the other stuff (belts, oil, etc.) you are likely going to need throughout the season AS WELL AS how many of your friends you will also be telling to go elsewhere. These dealers need to realize that snowmobilers are a pretty tight knit group and when you wrong one of us, most of the rest of us take offense also and it WILL hurt them in the long run.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

checked with our local dealer here just last week on a deal for my brother....
'08 summit 800 154 = $8495, includes 3 yr. b to b warranty AND choice of one of the other 2 options (financing or $200 parts/accessories). ALSO includes $250 in free gas. that part is upfront automatic on any sled he sales before today (11/9). he has a hang tag on every sled in his showroom advertising the $250 gas promo. its completly seperate from the other promos.

i think you need to find a better dealer.

mabey give em one more chance to do it right, then let all of us on here know who they are. this website has a HUGE amount of readers, and when a dealer starts getting phone calls or emails from locals and others from outta the area, all in support of you, they may realize pretty quick that the coulple hundred bucks they saved on you will cost em a lot more in the long run.

thanks goodness for great dealers. to bad not everybody has one in their area.

i recently purchased an 09 xp 146 and got a very good price payed 9800 out the door with elec. start, they gave me the option of either taking the promos or taking it off the price i took the the special finance option only had dealer take the 200 off the price and also gave him the gas card to lower the price because if you get it you have to pay tax on the 250 so i saved $15 more by puting it towards the sled. i also only got 1 year b to b and 2 year warrenty not sure why.

Update.......

Here is the Bill of Sale.Scan0018.jpg

What I didn't notice is the tiny words that say "Selling price reflects all manufacturers promotions. Lojak is non refundable". Does this include the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty??

What I also fail to notice is any money deducted from the price of the sled at the top of the page. IE: It isn't documented anywhere on the bill exactly what the value of "all manufactures promotions" really is.

Grant had explained to the salesman what his promotion choices were.

He also explained it to the lady who was doing the paperwork, just to be sure he got his b to b warranty. She argued that she had just spent 10 minutes looking it up and the promotion was 1 year b to b, and 2 extra years of engine only. That is what she wrote on the warranty registration.

AT NO TIME did ANYONE explain that they had taken ALL of Grant's promotional items until I called them the next day. They now claim that they GAVE Grant an extra 2 year engine only warranty as if he should lick their feet.

Why didn't the lady tell him that they had taken his promos and that they had generously given him the 2 year engine only warranty??

Maybe because we would have left without taking delivery of the sled??

12 months of B.E.S.T warranty is $940

Add the $200 in free accessories.

Add the $250 gas card.

Add the price that was agreed to WITHOUT any knowledge of the loss of the promos: $8697.99

$10,087.99 for a 2008 XP 154 Everest.

Oooops, let's not forget the 2 year engine only warranty that Grant was so graciously "given". Let's figure $400

$9687.99

Grant could've bought a 2009 and STILL got his promotions for a few $$ more.

Will those tiny words make this legal?? Maybe..........

Will we ever step foot in Paulson's dealership again?? NOPE.

Will I encourage everyone who had a SnowCheck sled at Gonnason's to take their delivery at Lynwood, I-90, Steel Dreams, or ANYWHERE but Paulson's??

YOU BET.
