WORST MECH IN DENVER,CO AREA

I think what the majority of people reading this want to know is:

When did you take your sled to Peak?

What did you ask them to do?

What does the repair order say they did with itemized parts and labor?

What is the time span (time and miles) between this service and this thread?

I don't believe anyone reading this thread (even after your last post) can form an educated response as to whether you received poor service or not

The only other threads/posts I can find on Peak are positive.

I'm not taking sides here but it sounds like we are not getting the entire story. From the list of problems this sled either has not had any routine service or it just had the snot road out of it. And I'm just wondering what the original repair order was for and how much the bill was. Don't take this the wrong way but I think we need more details before we hang this guy >>>>.

I had my mod sled built by alpine. And we all know eric is the best in the country.

This explains alot! :face-icon-small-dis

Sorry to offend, but after reading your list, it sounds like you took a roached out mod sled in for some sort of service, which you won't expand on, and got back a roached out mod sled. What exact service did Peak provide, or try to provide????

Are Tree_eater1010 and Snowrider1010 the same person? If not, it is a weird coincidence that there are two 45 year old guys with D&D 1010 mods and that have the same style typing skills.

You dealers stick together, which is good.
Because I think what people are saying here 1010 is that your story is very one sided and the two 1010 usernames don't quite add up. Which after re-reading the thread I can see. One bad experience can condemn a shop and the anonimity of these boards makes pushing a personal agenda easy to do... so some people are skeptical.

I was very tempted to get on here when the shop that dissed me was still open and air out the dirty laundry after I talked to them and gave them the chance to fix it, which they chose not to do. I won't use their name on here even now because I don't want to F'up someone's potential livelihood over a few hundred bucks, but all my buddies know for damn sure:face-icon-small-win

Tough call, airing it out or not. And I know you feel like you got hosed. It can be helpful to call a spade a spade and save the next guy a headache, but if you're just pissed maybe starting a thread naming the guy the WORST MECH IN DENVER,CO AREA is going overboard.

Again, glad you found a wrench you trust and will recommend because that is a serious challenge! Best of luck with the sled.

Why hasn't Rick responded? Being in the business you would think he reads this forum. I don't know who to believe.

so let me get this straight fcr112 did you take the sled back to the shop that worked on it so they could fix the problem

why did you take it to a shop to have work done if you could do it your self

i love how people blame the shops but dont let them fix any issues and chime in on other peoples posts that have real problems..........

Yep and people who log onto a forum and make their first post one like this ???:face-icon-small-dis Welcome snowriding

...oh and the negative feedback too... spread the hate brother

Hmm wonder who you are and what your agenda is?

Once again I don't want to ruffle any feathers here, but how do you guys take these highly modified, high horsepower sleds into the backcountry without your mechanic holding your hand ?? It seems that most of the people that have the heavy mods on the sleds can work on them themselves and know when something is going wrong. And it just seems like it's pretty simple to trash a guy over a ragged out highly mod sled that needed so much work done to it to get it back in good shape >>>>.

I am not the type to call someone out but Scott has every right to be mad he paid Rick to go over the sled, tune it in and do all up-keep because Alpine was to far away and I had moved . The reason Scott is so mad is not just one or two things were messed up but a list of thing. All carb setting were way off, there was a coolant leak in engine at water pump seal, he did a carb clean and did not clean tank which was filled with crap and also did not stabil the fuel, jackshaft bearing was in two, left oil feed line unhooked...and list goes on. How can you tell me he looked over the sled like he was paid to do?

The comment about messed up sled is not true at all Scott puts them in the shop ever year for pre season and mid season check ups. That is the main reason he is mad. All this stuff should not be broken he just had in shop -did not even ride it after it left Peak. The comment about mod sled is crap if you have a good mechanic the sled should be in tune and good working order that is what we are paid to do!

. How can you tell me he looked over the sled like he was paid to do?

no one here can try to fairly decide whether the shop did wrong because Scott has never clearly said what Rick was asked/paid to do.

I will ask one more time:

When did you take your sled to Peak exactly?

What did you ask them to do exactly?

What does the repair order say they did with itemized parts and labor exactly?

What is the time span (time and miles) between this service and this thread exactly?

Hey mbms why would I lie about any of this. And it don't matter what the invoice says because he's the only one that's worked on my sled. I not site why your even making this argument, don't you live in wa? When I need a opinion from some loser from another state, I'll make sure I look you up. Of should I call rick. Otherwise I can't figure out why your backing such a loser shop.

WOW:face-icon-small-dis

Tree_eater, Snowrider, obviously the same person who failed english:

Yes, the services provided matter. If I take one of our roached out work trucks in to get the carb cleaned, and the tranny goes out, is the shop responsible?

MBMS just wants more details, like the rest of us, before you poorly attempt to tarnish Peaks reputation.

I see Peak is viewing this thread, hopefully he fills everyone in.

that's you biggest complaint? my typing? Give me a break dude. And my sled
is not roached out. it was in premium condition, when peak starting working on
it 2 yrs ago for all my routine maintance. Mayby peak is not the type of
mechanic i need. I'm looking for someone that looks at everything when i bring
it in. no matter what i think is wrong, they should look everything over.

And you have all the details. all though im sure peak is gonna have a different side. And your stupid story about your work truck is not the same as what happened to me. Mayby you should learn to read.
