Why can't I just enjoy my $10K sled?

You were aware that the xp was a new model, correct? That the drivetrain was new, correct? Buyer beware, is what I say.

....btw, I bought one as well, and can live with some small issues because I have an outstanding dealer, and the sled flat out works.

I would have to agree with those who have said it before, first year in new chassis, you never know what it's going to be like.......second they only put the 800 motor in it and not the 600 also. Sounds like bpr has ya by the nutz and has said r and d this chassis for us so we can decide if it will last with a 6 or even a 1000..................not trying to bash bpr but it would be nice to have a pull and go sled.

You should have learned last year, you also had the 07 and the clutch issues. You should have waited to see. Period . No mercy from BRP for you. Maybe you will learn someday, Maybe...

You are right. I don't think I will ever learn. April order the new model. November pick it up. December complain it is not perfect. The cycle continues... Maybe this is just the way sledding goes?

After reading about all the clutching issues on the 07 and belt failures and everyones warning about us being the R@D for brp on the mountain with there new XP I decided my old 02 800 highmark with a fresh engine will have to do.The old girl keeps her belt all season long and with an 8" bar riser its a great boondocker that is reliable.I went out last spring and demoed a dragon 700 and the new doo and never came away impressed. I wil probably demo a new 800 dragon as they seem to have less out of the box issues. I am looking for a sled to last 4-5 years not 1 as up here in Canada they are closer to 14k.This year I had the cash but until the reviews from everyone come up good I have to pass on a side note I spent my extra cash on 2 Yamaha 700 Grizzly ATV's [they work out of the box].Like eveyone says buyer beware and I don't trust my BRP dealer one bit

If I lived in Kelowna, I would ride a Dragon, just for the fact that you have M&M, and Dr. John.

most of "us" 07 800r owners saw this comming

I really feel sad for those who had no clue what "we" 2007 800r Summit owners went through last year with our clutch issues among other things.

For those of you who owned a 07 800r and snowchecked or bought an XP I dont feel that bad. You had to have seen this comming right ? I mean, they had yet to fix the 07's when you put your money down on the XP. Infact the fix was still like 6 months away with no garantee that it was even going to work ( with their first 4 fixes nothing more than a band-aid, why would we assume the "new" fix was going to work ? )

I for one never even considered buying a new XP until they were able to fix my $ 10,000 POS. I feel like this is no suprise and seen this comming. If you just remember how lost they were with the 07's and trying to fix it with bullsh+t parts and I think they were very aware that it was not going to fix it. How the hell could the new XP be so perfect or dialed in when they could not fix the 07 ? I dont trust them anymore and they will have to prove themselves to me in the future if they want to earn my buisness again.

Funny how I see some of the SAME GUYS that would not stop complaining about their 07's ( and they had the right to ) and how messed up they were and a waste of money, jump on the bandwagon and buy a new XP just to see them writing basically the same posts !!!!!

When my daughter burned herself on the stove guess what ? She never did it again, she learned her lesson. Some guys could learn a lot from a 2 year old.

BTW, Im still working on my 07 and even with a brand new primary cant get the proper rpm's and its still going back to the dealer ( this must be about the 15th visit in a year, I should be on BRP's payroll )

All in all, good luck guys, I hate to see your hard earned money wasted reguardless of who you are and what your prevous sled was. Im still right there with you trying to get my POS fixed. I think we should start a support group for 800R owners called " Battered,Beaten & broke 800R support group"

I dont know if anybody remembers but in April of this year I started a thread titled " If you snowchecked an XP you must be crazy" beause that is what I thought when BRP sent me a letter letting me know that they extended all 07 800r owners warranty for an additonal year and the note said P.S. its not too late to snowcheck a 2008 XP ....crazy is what I was thinking at the time. Sorry for the long post im done.....for now

Our dealer had his 07's figued out in Febuary last year.............. can't imagine a Dealer still not having a 07 working right.

LOL that right there is funny !!! How when they did not even get the rollers or buttons finished until late October of this year ?

cant imagine a dealer not having a 07 working right ? LOL where have YOU been ? There is still a major clutch problem and engine crank problem....

What did your dealer do to fix his clutch ? The problem was not fixable until BRP made new rollers that actually fit the incorrect tollerances of the primary. Oh, he must have bought a Polar Clutch or something like that becasue he did not fix his stock clutch thats for sure

Our Dealer went to aftermarket rollers instead of waiting for SkiDoo,lots of 07's around running good now.

can you tell me what brand ? The problem was the tolerances. Did some other company make special buttons for him ? To be honest if somebody made an aftermarket fix im sure many of us would have done that. How did he find a company to make the buttons fit right ? I could understand if the buttons were the right size but just built wrong then you could use aftermarket but they were the wrong size.. Im curious so please explain
