Still riding my '03 for at least one more year. And most likely will keep it around for a while even if I do get a new sled.

MNT Viper

Just bought mine in September 2007 - 2004 MNT Viper with mods...love it...no time to ride like I use too. Price was right since I had sold my sled in the March of 2007. Cant justify the costs of new one for the amount I ride in the mountains and around home.

02 sx viper , i love the power of the old girl just put a new /used track on her and ordered the transfer enhancement kit looking forward to an other trouble free season.:beer;

I'm heading into my last year on mine.....I've said that fr a couple years. When I ride the "new iron" I'm not sure what I really want. I've been very happy with my sled but know the new stuff has some advanages.

My riding buddy built and is still riding this full Mod 835 and it's awesome!

I ran out of room and had to sell my Vipers, 03 and 05.
Turned a lot of heads on that 03.
Sixat38 has the best running Viper I have ever seen, that thing rips.
Maybe he'll let me throw a leg over it in Dec at the Flathead Forum ride.
The Nytro definitely handles better in the trees, but in "stock" form the Viper kills it on the hill. Problem fixed this year though.

05 Mtn Viper

I just got done with mine I have an 05 Mountain Viper I took off the 144 rails and put on some factory 162 Apex rails, I also modded some apex rear suspension brackets and put on a 162 x 16 I will not get to try it out until about Feb but I am psyched It has Variflow and some bender tripple pipes and I also put an opticool head gasket in it to help keep it cool I am thinkin that I am going to drop one tooth in the gearing and then I will have to figure something out for my cluthcing I love mine would like to go 4 stroke but I would have to have a turbo and I cant afford that quite yet

I would sell my 4-stroke if I couldn't do boost. They just don't have it. Fun for sure, but just not enough for me right now.

No dice6, I'm sort of in the same mind set as you. Mine is just a stock moter, piped, but the overall set up is pretty darn good. Snocattin & I traded paint with ours for a few years and got them fairly dialed in. Then he moved away :face-icon-small-fro Throw a longer track on, a set of pipes and for a 700 it goes good. I'm looking forward to letting Snocattin take it for a spin in Dec. Cuz that means I'll be sitting on his sled :D

Just sold my 02 this year, after riding it for 6 seasons. I had it longer and put more miles on it, then any previous sled!
My was ported, piped, and had a bunch of light weight stuff. It had strong power, and was fun to ride!
Main reason I sold it, was to move on to newer suspension/chasis. I think it's a combination of me getting older, and the trails to the good stuff, getting rougher. :beer;

Still riding my 2004. Just rode it on July 1st actually. I love that thing. Bought it in the summer of 2007 with 300 or so miles for $2800. Now it has about 3700 miles on it. It's hanging tough even after rolling off of a cornice and down about 600 vertical feet in March. I'm saving for a new machine that I'd like to buy this coming spring - I haven't decided what to get yet. Why doesn't Yammie make 2 strokes anymore? :confused: I love the piped triple 700.

Still have mine. Put a 159 on it a year or so ago to go with the slps and team. Sled runs great don't know that I could ever part with it. My Dad rides it most of the time now since I got an XP. We did a few meadow runs with 1 or so foot of fresh with a good base and the "old iron" did just fine.

Hey guys glad I found this thread. I have a chance to pick up a 02 700 Yamaha Viper. Has 1500 miles on it and is stock. I am trading him an 02 raptor for it (maybe) I look at it on friday. He has a 230cc yamaha as well that is for the kid that he is adding.
Anyway on the viper how do they do in powder? Get stuck much? What is the stock track on it? like a 121" or so? Also how do you lengthen the track and tunnel do you have to snatch a track and skid off another machine? thanks Jeff

all sleds get stuck. it's who's riding it that makes it get stuck more or less often.

if it's the mountain version, it comes with the 144" camoplast challenger..awesome track.

and to extend the rails and track..you can just buy rail extensions, and a longer track. it's that simple.
