Holy crap,
I have seen some bad running boards before but man. Some of you talk about money. f.u. boards or snow eliminators are fairly cheap and they look great, and are easy to put in. and who uses a torch to cut the thin alum. in running boards, a retard? a sawzall or air cutter will do it in about 30 sec.

Some of us don't want or like what you can buy, the ones I put on my Phazer I did before there were any Better Boards or Sno Eliminators. The reason I did my own plastic ones is that I found the spacing on the Phazer ones was too wide and the Fastlanes look like the spacing was too wide, so I made mine a bit tighter. Easier on the feet. Still they both work great and they are my own.

i love my fastlanes..but i really give you credit on your homemade ones...great great job..its the personal touches on sleds that we appreciatte when we are not upgrading every year or two...again nice work...ps...jig saws work good to cut in boards as well..

Holy crap,
Hey longtrack156, you are a minority, or the only one, who would waist there time on an old fazer. Don't get me wrong or do, whatever, but that might be a fun thing to mess around with but who would want to ride that thing all the time. and if thats all you have or all I had, I would ride it, but that would suck. but it's kinda cool too.

I ride a 162 M7 most of the time but the Phazer at 360 lbs has had almost 100lbs removed from it and has a pipe, it will almost wheelie and being that light I will take it places that I won't take the M7. It is more fun but tiring on a longer ride.

With a good body saw and a steady hand, the only cleanup you need to do after cutting out the old runningboards is a quick run around with a file or proper deburr tool. Sawzalls work but they're like doing surgery with a hatchet. Oh, and a pneumatic rivet gun is the schiznit for pulling steel rivets.

in my book an oxyacetylene torch isnt considered a cutting torch... i obviously have my definitions wrong since a cutting torch as i know it isn't actually a torch at all but either way looks like there are better solutions
