Whistler-Pemberton official 09-10 thread

Rode again today and I have to say that these are the best November conditions ever!! We have more snow now than we did the middle of last Janaury. Rode uncut deep pow all day today and ran into about 5 other sleds total. Where is everyone!?

I would like to spend a few days up in this area.
Are there areas where a guy can park his truck/camper + enclosed trailer for a few nights that are near trail heads?
Are there maps for the area available, as I am not familiar with it?
Thanks.

Hey guys, I'm new to the area and looking for people to ride with. I have the next couple weeks off work, so lots of time to ride! Hoping to get my deck on today and I will be ready to go. Anyone willing to show me around a bit would be greatly appreciated :D

Im extremly jealous!! Whistler has got HUGE amounts of snow coming....I mean BIG!!!!! If you get a break in the weather it should be insane....get some good pics to keep us going please:D

We where at brohm today. Socked in big time ,and snowing very hard. Very heavy snow in the trees. Did not go out the back side.

Uhhh, sexy time? Especially since the west side of the valley (Callaghan/Brandywine/Rutherford) always get 50% more snow than Whis/Blackcomb! Stoked!

Rode Brandywine yesterday, super deep and was dumping all day. It was pretty bottomless, didn't hit anything but saw a few uncovered bolders! Brandywine area will be colsed between Feb 1st and March 21st, then it's go time again after that. After this weeks snow fall it will be insane at Brandywine!

There are boulders in the "Big Bowl" at Brohm that are at least 10 feet high in the summer time and there is not one sign of rocks anywhere. I was sitting on the sharkfin on Saturday and thought I died and went to heaven! Can't wait to get out the next sunny day with the weather forecast calling for 4-5 feet of fresh this week! It is going to be sick!!

Insurance and permits?? Have you all seen this

Years of lobbying in B.C. brings off-road vehicle registration, licensing and insurance if cross roads
(Copyright Thompson’s World Insurance News. Not to be redistributed by individual recipients.)
After years of lobbying by municipalities, environmentalists and user groups, B.C. is to regulate the use of off-road vehicles.
Over the next two years the government will introduce rules requiring them to be registered, licensed and — for those crossing roads including designated logging roads — insured.
Riders using Crown lands will be required to wear helmets and use lights at night.
Age-appropriate safety measures and adult supervision will be mandatory for young riders.
New standards for mufflers will minimize the noise impact on wildlife and spark arresters will reduce the risk of forest fires.
Tourism, Culture and Arts Minister Kevin Krueger said the rules did not require new legislation.
They would be rolled out over two years to give ICBC time to work out the details.
They will require registration and licensing at time of sale and re-sale.
“The constriction is how long it will take ICBC to modify the system to allow for the numbers,” he said.
“No one really knows the number of off-road vehicles in B.C.”
ICBC media relations manager Mark Jan Vrem said the cost of the program would be comparable to registering and licensing other small vehicles.
“It will be a ‘user pay’ approach with no costs to the taxpayers.”

Are they grooming from the Brandywine parking lot, or do you have ride gravel? Looks like some sweet snow up there!!!!!
Hoping to go this weekend!

I talked to someone that was up on the weekend and he said it was good. Should be awesome this weekend

We've had close to 3m more snow since last weekend. Pretty sure those ditches are probably gone.
