Which used sled for $4-5k

06 rev hand down. If you want an electrical nightmare buy an m7!!!! once all the bugs are worked out the m7 is a great sled, I personally love the 06 rev ski doos best year imo.

What electrical nightmares are you talking on the m7? there are a ton of m7 out there with over 5k miles with no problems. I have rode all the top 3 it just comes down to which fits your riding style.

I'd say rmk 600 if you want great handling and the tippiness. However, if you need more power the best bang for your buck would probably be an m7, and there a little more stable

Lol, just rode my old mountain max 700 yesterday. It had me missing the m7 to be sure, even with the triple pipes and other mods that thing has.

The difference between the chassis is that the m7 is rider forward and the mm isn't. The mm feels a lot heavier when you are trying to carve or sidehill, it likes to keep the skis flat on the ground. The m7 was made to be rode standing up, the mm is not.

The m7 is not a perfect machine and they do have issues. (I would read up in the cat forum to get a handle on what to look for before buying one.) But I still feel it is one the most fun and nimble sleds to ride out there, I've been very happy with mine.

Well where to start? The tail light wire under the seat that gets worn through. The hand warmer Issues. I don't know all of them it just sucks when your sled goes into limp mode back in the mountains. I had two arctic cats 04 firecat and an 05 m7 bb 800. It ruined quite a few rides when they went into limp mode. Any mods you do you have to run a controler which SUCKS. I just think a rev is easier to mod and tune than an m7. I agree it comes down to what you like!!

Different perspective here...I came off an 06 Crossfire 7 with a 144" track, so similar to the M7. It was a great sled, not the most powerful but never missed a beat and very reliable. This may sound stupid but one of the big reasons I got rid of the Crossfire was to get reverse on my sled. It is a feature in my opinion worth having and I went with a 07 Rev. I like the boondocking of the M chassis a titch better than the Rev, but it is all personal preference. If you want a little more snort and highmarking, get an 800 Rev, if you want light and flickable and reverse is not important to you, get an M7 hands down. Both should be fairly reliable and serve you well...just my .02

06 M7. My buddies has been the most reliable sled of the group with 0 issues, and it has surprisingly good power compared to the M8's and M1000's he rides with. Only thing it doesn't have is reverse, which is nice sometimes...

The rev takes a bit more body input to get to turn but that didnt really bother me I think you would get used to it fairly quick, my buddy has a crosfire7 with a 136x 1.75 track and I have ridden that on the trails a little bit. What impressed me about his rev (whch was setup vwry well by a dealer/performance shop) was how easily it got up on the snow from a stop or slow speeds, ie not getting stuck and I was just wondering if the rev is that much better or if the setup on my edge was that far off (both?)
