Which is better for boondocking?

I'm as anti Cat as they get. But the 1000 just plain rips. I have a bunch of buds that ride em. Dragon by far is the best boondocker you'll ride.
M1000= too the top for sure.
D8= way more fun and a hell of a rush gettin to the top.
Xp= broken shaft and a tow from one of the above.
Yami=HHMMMMMMM.Turbo/Super Charger and a lot of $$$$$$$$

Oh and summer does suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i sold my M8 153 for my REV....and would never look back
i am way more confident on my REV and it just feels better
it's easy to work on and lotsa mod's out there

as suggested b/f, put a 860 BB in it if u want/need more HP

i like the 144 way better for boondocking/jumping

my .02

im 6' 5" 260lb also and i don't think any sled is difficult to carve or lay on its side with my weight so i wouldn't think that would be an issue for you. keep the rev, brace the he!! out of the front end and do an SHR 860.

I'VE SAID IT BEFORE & SAY IT AGAIN WHATS THE REAL WEIGHT OF A REV AFTER REINFORCING THE WEEK SPOTS. ?????????? SAME AS THE OTHER SLEDS....... OR MAYBE MORE.......SKI DOO NEEDS TO MAKE A MORE DURABLE SLED FOR THE SKI DOO GUY.
THAT MEANS H.W.P. NOT A MALNOURISHED SLED:beer;:beer;:eek::beer;

JUST MY 2 CENTS

I think the M's don't boondock as well as the D's. Been on both...with hours and hours of time on each. About 3 full days worth of riding on each of them.

I'd much rather have a bent skidoo a arm and the poss of getting back to the truck, then an AC a arm that just break in half so easy and leave you stranded. I say, stick with a rev..

Coming off 06 and 07 rev 800's myself, Id say go for the M8. Its not a tank, has good power, handles extremely well and runs great out of the box.

I own a 2007 Skidoo summit xrs 800 151 and I am already tired of the the bent bulkheads and unreliable motors. One thing I will give it is that it is a blast to boondock(when one ski isnt 4 inches farther back than the other). Would I be better suited on an m1000 or m8 as opposed to the Rev? I am looking forward to hearing your guys's opinion.

I put the SLP kit in my 07 rev 800. You will be the king in your group for sure. Way cheap horse power for the money !!!!

From what I hear the D8 is the best for boondocking, as for Cats I would personally go for the M8 over the M1000, I rode with both of them this past season, they were both stock the M1000 was a sno-pro the M8 wasn't and they both had 162". The guy on the M8 was his first year sledding the guy the M1000 has at least 6 years of experience and is definately a better rider but he couldn't keep up with the M8 when highmarking. Save the coin for mods and go with the M8. As for ski-doo I think you got a really good sled already but if you want better climbing the XP would be my pick but you would sacrifice the boondocking. A stock 154" first time rider was keeping up with a clutched and piped 162" M1000 and that guy was a really good rider, watching that convinced me into ordering an XP.

M1000 IS ONLY GOOD AFTER MOD PARTS THEN UNTOUCHABLE. UNLESS YOU ARE TURBOED OUT. IF YOU MOD A M8 & M1000......THE M1000 WILL KICK THE M8 A$$. NO BRAINER. IF YOU TURBO THE M1000 WATCH OUT. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN RIDE WITH IT IS A TURBO APEX.....:beer;:beer;:eek::beer;

I'M GOING BROKE WITH MY 2 CENTS.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RIDING STOCK SUCK BIG TIME............

IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO MOD SLED GET A BETTER JOB OR A SECOND JOB ITS WORTH IT

I'd go with an 8 for sure, i love the 8 with a few minor mods. If you wanna beat my xp, then go with a M8 with a Cutler Performance kit and a challenger. You will be smiling all winter!

XP 146 with RK-Tek drop in kit would also be a blast:face-icon-small-win

Last year the CPC M8 kit put a smile on my face that lasted through the whole summer!

Here is a little hill that brings that smile back every time I think of it.

I'm looking at the 09 M8 for this season and ride a rev summit right now.
What made you go with the CPC kit?
I was thinking RKT for mine if i decide on it.

you tell me were you seen a arctic cat a arm break in half? thats a bunch of B.S and you know it!! AND IM CALLING YOU OUT ON THIS ONE

i can atest, my friend, broke an a arm in half when he hit a small stump, but it was way cheaper than a nun, and the M series sleds honestly are the way to go, they rock really hard...

and people dont seem to get it when comparing highmarks, rider weight, my dads bone stock m7-153 will highmark ( by a good bit ) my friend who has the same sled with an intake, can, and a bunch of venting and lightweight nonsense, because my dad is about 75 pounds the lighter rider.
