I used The RX1 for boarding for several years now and have build it up slowly to my needs.
Buy one cheap and drop the skid for a K-Mod or similar -- light weight drop brackets and a light muffler are a must.
I used the 151 track all along works well I found the skid made all the difference --- that way you can run stock gearing as well.
Reverse is a must as well as higher pushed forward some handlebars.
( 5"rox risers work if you re-rout some cables and the brake line)
Clutching is a must also. The seat can be stuffed by a good 2" to make it a flat top for 2 up riding ( the stock cover is stretchy enough all you need is foam and a staple gun)
Longer track - rider forward - Lightweight frond suspension and turbo are great upgrades but I would call that a wish list not a need to have.
You will find it does anything the Apex does for much less and will go for ever best all around sled ever made hands down.
By the way when mine was set up that way it would easily hang with the stock Apexes although it only had the 151 inch track.
